SPY PICS & INFO: TaylorMade Prototype Golf Ball - "Project 5"

Talked to Peter Hanson at the KLM Open EuropeanTour event on Tuesday and he told me that the ball is especially long against the wind, down wind its just as long as the older model but in the wind he received 7-8 yards extra! The ball stays longer on its line and the angle of decent is normal instead of the normal dying balflight again the wind. Sounded really good what he told!!

What specific quality of a ball causes that? I'm certainly excited. I have been playing the RX this year but would love to play a new TM ball (think the TP5 isn't as long for me as the RX).

Is the ball already on the approved list? Interesting that Rose wanted it right out of the box as players usually are very difficult to change because they know the distances of the balls and how they are going to spin. It's either that good or the old one was that bad. I know I switched away once they quit making the LDP Red.

I'd expect the release to be in the spring just because they had the original Penta on fire sale for quite a while before the TP5 hit the shelves.

I was playing with a buddy yesterday who has had a chance to play the Project 5 and he raved about the ball.

The SuperDeep appears to have the same dimple pattern as the "Project 5"?

Is that really what they're calling it?

Let's hope not. I actually much preferred the name Project 5.
[/quote]

you can identify the dimple patterns by only looking at pictures of the project5 and this one, but miss the big illustration on the box that clearly shows a two-piece ball?

interesting

Seems to be the successor for the Burner Ball, while the Jaws seem to be the new tour caliber ball

Superdeep will be the mid-line ball. I have seen them, but they have yet to release the official name of the "project 5". Jaws is not the name of the ball, it is a proto name as tmag is notorius for doing (Troy=RBZ, Vader=R11).

There will be another ball under the Rocketballz banner that sits between the Tour level ball (JAWS) and the Superdeep. Also rumored that burner will stay as the value name badge.

I'm going to buy a dozen. Sometimes I use yellow balls when it is overcast out. My eyes seem to find it better then the old whitey.
