I'm telling ya. The Extreme is soooo low spin I bet we see a lot of guys go up in loft with this head.
I have to agree with this - been playing an 8.5 Fit - went with a 9.5 in the Xtreme - lowest spinning head I've played.

I think he just opens it up to 2 degrees or so, getting the 9.5 close to 8 degrees. He definitely played the FT Tour with Forged Composite Proto at Torrey Pines, saw it close up in person. He also used some kind of X-Hot fairway wood. Interesting that he switched to the Extreme. My guess would be that he'll be switching back and forth between that and his trusty FT Tour for a while as he has done in the past.

Sheesh guys stop complaining. Greg worked hard to get these. The players and caddies are very particular about what you can take pictures of. They won't just let him rummage through the bag, pulling crap out and throwing headcovers everywhere. They get what they get and you should not complain. You've spoiled us too well, Greg. I appreciate them.

Nice work!

I appreciate the picture and all of Gregs work. I would like to see what his wedge setup is though. If he has the 60 in the bag then is there a 64? If there is what does he go to after pw? If his pw is 47* surely he would be bagging a 52* or something bent around that number. Even then it would leave some big gaps.

9.5??? That's gotta be bent. Philly cheese plays 6.9'ish.
its not its the first time he's playing a standard loft driver he used to play a bent driver because of his spin rate was too high with a standard loft driver. With this driver he gets good numbers out of it. I found this out watching coverage today Brandel chamblee said this, anyone else see that part of the coverage? And to people who haven't seen the other thread, the rbz is still in the bag

It is an 8.1 degree driver

Facts.

1. The RFE is a great driver
2. Beware - Phil ALWAYS pumps Callaway and always has. Put a mic in his face and he is dishing the props back to the mothership.
3. Callaway probably deserves the props in this case - first time they've deserved respect in about 4 years....

Phil had an FT 9 TA in play last week from the pics I saw posted on WRX. I have to admit the RFE driver is the real deal, as much as I didn't want to like it after I hated the original Razr Fit & had been killing my X Hot Pro driver I didn't give the RFE much of a chance until I started testing it this week with a Accra Prototype (all black rubber coating & says Accra Prototype and TourZ at the tip) I know nothing about but it's turned out to be the perfect combo. Getting on the flight scope next week, will be interesting to see the numbers & see if the RFE/XHP will knock the FT 9 TA out of the bag.

I could swear I heard Johnny Miller proclaim he was hitting the X Hot, then I saw him with the RFE and was blown away by these Callaway guys looking for any opportunity to pump them. Thank goodness Faldo doesnt bang TM on live TV, there wouldnt be time to talk about the golf.

Johnny Miller got it wronmg again. He was saying Phil was playing an xhot extreme driver. He got one bit right. I would have thought these commentators would be all over the new gear and who is playing it. I thinks its poor form and ignorance that a guy that is really well paid to commentate golf doesn't know the correct name of a major brand newest driver. Anyway Phil is going great guns and thats tops.

I think it is even worse in that Miller is on Callaway's payroll and still doesn't know the stuff. I will say that just about everything has been about pushing the Xhot. Most of the driver articles I've seen and print ads have been about the Xhot. The Xtreme was just sort of being glossed over until the past three days, and Phil's performance has been a better advertising campaign than Callaway could have hoped for.

i love witb threads but this one is bad.

you showed us all the clubs we already know. we want to see the 3w and 5w. and show better wedge pics. and iron shaft pics. we all know he plays the razr fit extreme with fubuki. and we all know he hits the razr mb's

i dont mean this as un appreciative. what you do is amazing. but can even you not see under those covers?
Sorry you were so disappointed with the photos. I look forward to the ones you're able to get.

Thanks
