Northern Trust Open Photo Discussion Thread

We're inside the ropes at the historic Riviera Country Club, site of the 2012 Northern Trust Open in Pacific Palisades, Calif., just outside of Los Angeles.

 

Last year, Bill Haas bested Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley in a two-hole playoff for his fourth PGA Tour victory and the first since winning the 2011 FedExCup.

 

This year, Haas returns with Bradley, Mickelson, and joins a star-studded field that includes Fred Couples, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Cantlay, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Russell Henley, James Hahn, Charles Howell III, Ryo Ishikawa, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan, Graeme McDowell, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson, Vijay Singh, Lee Westwood, Gary Woodland and many more.

I'm actually going to make a quick trip back to Maryland (haven't been home since the 15th of Jan). I'll be back at Riviera on Friday & the weekend.

WiFi speaker so you can play your tunes while you play golf

I think the thing clipped the Casey's cap is a metronome of some sort to beep a tone that will allow you to keep a certain rhythm/tempo to your swing

I like the radio idea but that speaker looks like something a child would be lugging around..

A few notes from the Tuesday pics:

James Hahn- Very cool and down to earth guy. You can tell he is on cloud 9 right now.

CHIII- Very personable and willing to chat a bit with the fans. He just seems like a real genuine guy.

A few other un-named pros looked almost disgusted after signing autographs, which is understandable when a 40+ old guy pulls out 3 pictures to sign. Its obvious they are taking them straight to ebay for a profit.

The Koreans seem to really stick together. Huh, KJ, Bae, and Noh all played practice rounds. I think Huh went out with Hahn.

DJ tried like 4 different putters when I watched him. The rep brought over the shoes to see which he liked. DJ said 'I fu&%in want them all' LOL He was also telling them how he would like the colors switched a bit. Must be nice huh?

Watched ernie his his x-utility on #10. Murdered it. Now I know how the clubs is actually mean to perform. Absolutely no curve on the ball. straight rocket.

Can't help but notice that Dustin Johnson has got Tour 360 ATV's back on. I'll be interested to see if the AdiZero sticks with the other tour players.

I was there yesterday and today. Spent a lot of time by the equipment vans and have a few goodies for the effort. Rubbed elbows with Wayne Gretzky for a little bit today too. Watched Bubba, Webb, Adam Scott, Keegan, Sergio, Ernie, Corey, and Paddy today. Bubba looked the best. He just loves to work the driver so Riviera bends to his knees. Most of the straight forward guys have issues. If you can work it with the course you make it easier. Sergio was looking good. Webb was a little left off the tee all day and Adam Scott was back and forth but mostly high right pushes. Kokrak was putting lights out, Cantlay was terrible.
