Swan, would you say the Kiyoshi White would be lower in spin than the TS.3? How would you compare the feel?

[/quote]

this is what i have found...

the KIYOSHI WHITE is going to launch higher, flight higher, spin similar, feel smoother, fly straight. the .3TS will launch lower, flight lower, spin similar, have a tighter kick, more conducive to moving the ball intentionally - yet in comparison to other shafts - will fly straighter. the KIYOSHI WHITE will also be more sensitive to tipping - meaning it could play/feel "more" different (weird grammar) when tipped than the .3TS.

adding one more shaft into the mix... the .2TS is going to be slightly lower, spin similar, have a stiffer butt kick, fly straighter - in comparison to the above mentioned shafts.

when you get shafts this good - the spin difference is within 100 rpm with all things being equal. one may benefit different angles of attack, load characteristics or head preferences better.

i may have a problem... and perhaps a new three iron to test :)

I have a 4i coming since that is the longest iron that I play. Can't wait to get it... Really cool technology for an iron, basically an AP2 body with MB skin.

After what the 7.5 D3 just did on the course, you might need to go all Titleist, just saying. :)

I would take any of those sets over anything Ping right now. When are the 714's coming out? I would wait and hit those.

58° M is 8° 58 K is 10° and a wider sole. I always liked higher bounce wedges and I think the M is a really good balance between a lot of bounce and still being aggressive. I have a 60 K on the way that I am interested in trying as the wider sole is essentially forgiveness.

let me know if you want to try a 60 M... I have a few...

Swan, definitely keep the ansers and if you pick up a more demanding iron set like the mp64's or titleist cb's. I find that I start drooling over the thin players cb's, then once I play them for a little over a month I start looking to play with something more forgiving.

Honestly I think the best thing for me will be to have these anser irons for my main play and I might pick up a real nice thin players set for when Im craving something like that.

I won't ever get rid of the ansers! Coming from blades then to players cb it's what I'm most comfortable with. Golf is all about the quality of your bad shot - that's what I'm after.

What iron listed would you entertain as a contender?

I have 64's which I think are the best club on that list. That said, I'm selling them for a set of Ansers. With the 64's you really need to put some time in to play them well consistently. Ansers on the other hand are point and shoot. They retain everything I like about the 64's yet are effortless.

On your best days they'll make you look like a pro...on your worst they'll still make you feel like a pro.

I like... always been a big Vokey guy though. I absolutely love the 60M... not totally thrilled with my 54 to be honest. I should have kept my 56.08 which was a wonder club for me. I honestly can't believe how good the Anser irons are though. I do have a slick set of 712MB's sitting in a box with X100's and Z-Cords... I'm not good enough to play those every day. I had 211 to a front pin yesterday, 50 degrees out and I whiffed the Anser 4 iron to about 12 feet. They look too good to hit shots like that.

  • 2 weeks later...

i added this in TAI's thread, but felt it was also relevant here...

"well i made the mistake of hitting the 913d3 again yesterday. this is the first time that i added the motore speeder 7.2ts to the mix, as when i owned the driver when it first came out the fit cart was not complete. for those of you who have discounted this club because something was a little off - revisit it with a good shaft. it wasn't THE longest driver that i hit, but as TAI has mentioned - what is performance. my definition has been off chasing numbers. the 913d3 will more than likely make it back in my bag this year and be the fixture moving forward."

i'm also learning a little more about TRACKMAN and numbers through a master fitter at REDTAIL. i felt as if i had a good concept and with my additional research felt more than adequate having a intelligent conversation with a TRACKMAN trained fitter. i opened pandora's box though with understanding swing tendencies and misses with fitting and how he gets around that. fascinating. i learned too much to fully process... either way i am learning that i need more spin. i will share more as i gain a better understanding.

913d3 we will meet again :)
