So I just wanted to jump in on this thread as I plan to start one soon about my experience with Lump. I will say that I was tired of the look of an off the rack putter and wanted to have something that was mine and mine alone. So I started searching around the boutique putter world. Looked into Bryon, Lajosi and Mann and stumbled upon a few Xenon designs. I saw the name Uselton on a putter and stopped me in my tracks. My last name is Uselton. Now this isn't a very common name so I pick one up in a trade off BST just to test the waters. I am floored by how awesome this putter is. I contact Lump and explain my story and he has one to me within a month. I have family real close to where he lives so in a few months I will be off to Tenn and going to stop by the shack and talk design and try to come up with something really innovative. I had a trip planned and weather ruined it a couple weeks ago. Should be heading down later this month to meet Lump and get started on something new. Here is the temporary place holder in the bag for the time being Lump sent me. He reshafted it with a black shaft and used a Salty cork grip. Thing rolls so pure. Couldn't be more happy.

i'll be honest - the grain in that is some of the most beautiful i've seen to date. seems right at home next to that tree in the background -- absolutely gorgeous flatstick man, congrats!

I just received these images from Lump. After purchasing the putter from Johnny I had it sent for a refinish, loft/lie adjustment, sole stamping (a few dancing maple leafs) and a change in toe hang (as close to face balanced as possible).

I also added a new headcover, grip, and bag tag.

 

 

 

Really pleased with how this turned out. I love the shape of an Anser, but putt so much better with a mallet/mid-mallet.

She arrived yesterday in under four days time from Nashville. Lightning speed from the US to the Great White North. This beauty totally exceeded my expectations on every level. I gasped when I took the putter out of the head cover. Feels fabulous on the carpet but may not see action for a few days outdoors.

 

A few additional pictures. The milling and 'chatter' on the flange is awesome. Four maple leafs (one for each member of my 'clan'). Brass shaft band and black chrome shaft. Mocha in colour with purplish hues depending on the lighting.

That's called the X*. Lump's take on the anser 2 style putter. Have it in AlBz and it's a very nice one.

So it seems like he has many more models than what is listed on the shape part of his website. I sent an email to Xenon yesterday and I hope I hear a response soon. I'd like to find out more about all of the Xenon answer style options. I was going to go with another company but I cannot get a return call or email.

Yes I do. Very cool putter. My only wish is that it had a sound slot.

 

Loved the muted yet solid feel of this putter, so I wouldn't personally go with a sound slot but that's an easy enough fix...send it in to Lump.

Lump is pretty good at responding back from my experience. He has some standard CNC head styles, but also does a ton of handmade stuff, so whatever style you like, just ask him for it. He'll make it happen. Enjoy your custom putter...whoever you go with.

it's slow on putter talk too. He does post a few on instagram every now and then...my update was that he was very busy and had to switch suppliers for the insert material..I don't think he has started mine at all yet....paid end of feb..quoted 4-6 weeks. I'm moving and traveling soon so a cancellation might happen, though my cover is done so I'd take that at least.
