I agree 100%- if there is no shield. I'd venture to guess that if you placed both versions side by side, there's not a person on this site that would chose the writing over the shield. On so many levels it seriously looks better. Plus the aura of having the "TP" badge on a club. I love that I have it on a few of my clubs- when I am out playing and someone makes a comment on the badge, I know they "get it". I realize that it means much more to "us" (the "1%er's" of the golf world, if you will...) than the general golf consumer community, but I don't get what having the text brings to the table over the shield in TM's marketing eyes. Unless the rumored brush up with Chevy/ Corvette logo has some merit.

If they were not going to add the logo they should have just kept the TaylorMade logo on the back and moved on. I don't buy the corvette thing any longer since they are going to use that logo on the shafts. Who knows at this point??

I was just spit balling there. I can't come up with any other good reason not to include it. Unless I am over playing it's importance in Joe Golfer's eyes?

what theyve said in the past is that it scares people away thinking they arent good enough to play it. not sure if thats the case still.

I can see that, but I don't see why someone of this mindset would differentiate between the words "Tour Preferred" and the "TP" shield. Not disagreeing with you at all.

*edit- more than likely, the people who see that shield and think they aren't good enough to play that piece of equipment may just be right. Does TM want to sell equipment to people even if it is the wrong piece of equipment?

That really makes no sense to me. So they replace it with the "Tour Preferred" signature? I would think that would scare more people off then just a tiny logo.

There are a couple black putters, but I was shown at least one new white putter. There will be a few more counterbalanced options as well

the white on a putter seems to be something people actually like and can see a benefit of. I wouldnt be surprised to see it stay for awhile but I would love to see some TP putters

I would love to see more models of putters. Maybe not for general retail but, like a custom shop. Different inserts, finishes, weighting options. Pipe dream I know.

I do see white continuing with the Spider Blade/Mallet line, Ghost Tour, etc.

Oh and bring back the Kia Ma line. I want a black DA-22 in black finish, please. With sole weights and counterbalance grip. And the grip shouldn't be your normal generic TM/Winn grip. Something more unique...... "sigh" .......Sorry...

There are 2 in the 2013 Ghost Tour line that can be ordered tha way, $49 upcharge. Daytona and Fontana, I think. Are those the ones or others as well?

Customers will buy now, 10 mos later, if we're lucky 10 mos, out come some TP badged irons, like Pavlov's "Golfer" the customer is buying again. That TP flag looks glued on, was there not a lot of b**** about the MB plastic emblem stuck onto the MB 712's? They look nice, and I would take solace its 100% forged on the MB's, NO plastic parts to fall off.

I should have inserted (sarcasm), i think the real reason is they'll launch new ones next year with the badge, WRX will explode and folks will sell their current iron sets for the TP badge.

Great looking irons though.

Well if there were being sued for "copyright infringement" they wouldn't have to do anything as Corvette wouldn't have copyright on that logo, but rather a trademark.
