Brush Tees

Recommended Posts

any good? I find myself breaking a lot of wooden tees. Probably me, though, and not the tee, but could use some that won't break and/or will last awhile.

I don't see many people with them, but when I do I ask how they like them and 100% do. I tee it low and use short tees as a result I rarely break one.

Epoch golf tees...I have been using one $6.99 box of them for almost 2 seasons now. Will not break if you tried, the only thing you have to worry about is forgetting to pick them up, seriously.

ha ha, lot to be said for that....whenever I pick up a broken tee, it usually lasts forever and even with driver, does not present that much of a problem. But I have been told that I should try to hit up with driver. I try, but always go back to shorter tee.

thanks, I will try them. I did go ahead and purchase a set of 3 brush tees, but probably will restrict their use to the back yard hitting range. I've only used it for a few swings, but so far it stays put. I am using the orange 2.4 oversize. They have one jumbo (yellow) at 3 1/8, but for me that is too long I think.

I was given a brush tee years ago by a friend. Bright orange in colour. I now carry three models (Yellow, orange, blue). I use the oversized yellow tee during normal conditions with the driver, and the orange tee on windy days and/or when I wish to lower the ball-flight. I like the blue tee when hitting my 3 wood off the tee. They provide a consistent tee height, are durable and are difficult to lose. The bristles occasionally cave in so by sure to keep the case.

I also use epoch tees for my irons, fairway woods and hybrids and they are durable.

Golf pride plastic four prong tees are just what you need. I love them and I see ALot of pros playing then as well.

They last much longer then wood tees. I usually play the same tee at least one full round.

Brush Tees were all the rage 10 years ago...but not the most durable...

Taylormade V-Steel 5W & 3W with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red shafts (Regular Flex)

Rife Island Series Aruba Blade Putter

Last person I saw using brush tees had one of those score tracking clickers, telescoping ball retriever, and a rain hood on bag when there wasn't a cloud anywhere in sight.
All of that being said, the Epoch tees are a good option if durabilty is really a concern.

Just picked up some of these plastic tees. This bag should last a few years because a) don't play much and b) they don't break as frequently as wooden tees.

Also, I like how it's color coded to help me tee the ball up consistently. I need all the help I can get!!!

I'm with ya OP, the cost of replacement tees is getting close to driving me away from this game
Really?? I cant tell if this is sarcasm or not.

But $3.99 for 150 tees is gonna make you stop golfing? Shame.. the golf gods are not amused.

Martini tee lasts forever. It was discussed here recently and aside from losing it you will have a long golfing life together.
I got these as a joke gift recently and brought them out for our dogfight at my club as a gag (we are all serious players ranging from +3 to 3 handicaps) and by God, by the end of the round I realized I will use this from now on. No more messing with trying to get the ball to stay on the tee and the ball flies just as far. Sign me up. Now a couple of other guys took a couple of the other colors. Kinda funny as I don't use anything gimmicky in my game.

I used to use the brush tee. If you didn't put it back into the case immediately, the brushes start to wilt. Also, on windy days, the ball will blow around on top of the tall brush tees and fall off. I used it for about 2 seasons. Meh.

I tried Zero Friction. Ever tried to tee up a ball on their stupid 3-prong system on the first hole of a tournament? I have. Hands shaking, it took me about 90 seconds to get it to stay with everyone watching. That was the last round for those stupid things. I liked the durablity of the plastic.

So I went to ebay and got 100 Zero Friction knock offs. They are incredibly durable and with more prongs, are easy to put on the tee. I'm still on the first bag of 100 and I'm starting my 3rd season with them. I usually give them away to anyone who needs a tee and tell them, "Here's the last tee you'll need. Don't lose it." It's practically true.

Once I run out though, I'm definitely going to a Martini tee. They look ridiculous, but my friend found one last year and he still is using it. They don't break, they are easy to tee and easy to see after the ball is hit. My friend has well over 100 rounds on his and is still playing it. I guess when I finally buy one, I'll have to be sure of the color as it'll be with me for a while.

Get the Martini.

Don't let the Brush-T haters get you down :). Seriously though I enjoyed their product but when you need to adjust tee hieght you need to move on.

These tees last a long time. You'll probably give them away or lose them faster than they break.
Everyone says that about those, I got a pack and snapped like the first 5 in one round, maybe my clubs are too sharp?
Possibly, but I doubt it. I only use the longer tees for driver/fairway woods. Irons are only with short tees. The less tee in the ground, the less chance that the tee will break.

I just ordered some. I too go through a lot of tees, but for me it's them breaking off because they get stuck in the ground and I hit the top half off. Maybe the plastic won't break, but "bend"? We will see how they go.
