Kisner's Caddie "violated" Dress Code at AP Invite?

Just saw this article on Golf Channel's page. His caddie was wearing what looked to be burnt red shorts and apparently after the 3rd round of the AP, a tour official came up to him and discussed how they violated the dress code.

The caddie code says "solid colored knee length shorts." His were appropriate in length but I guess the issue lies in the color?

What's going on with the PGA? Drug testing debacles, caddies in uproars about bibs, shorts of the wrong color? What's next? Wrong sunglasses? Too cool of shoes?

Thought it was going to say he wore his own bib with no sponsor logos on them.

But in all seriousness, that wouldn't surprise me as a security precaution...

The stupidest part if you saw the telecast was that Johnny and Dan were wearing Salmon coloured shirts - that matched the shorts - also trying to hurry Henrik - I would have told that official to fine my a** if her dare ! - the PGA better wake up with out Tiger it will be going downhill with this type of absolute nonsense!

Every caddie should wear that same color this week.

So John Daly can wear what he does but a caddie who is independent cant wear orangish shorts? HELLO PGA, what about Fowlers all orange outfit? I think the PGA is trying to retaliate against the caddies lawsuit. The caddies work for the pro NOT the PGA Tour.

Who knows! Maybe the tour will have everyone wear jumpsuits next year?

I saw some other caddy tweet that he thought the reason why they were on his case was because the shorts were too distracting and took away from the advertising of the Master Card bib. Just ridiculous.

I thought the red looked good with the Master Card red... I was confused with the white front and black back of the bibs last week.

Old men with power & money..... It's their way or the highway

Yeah it'd be great if we got an actual explanation of the complaint from the PGA. We never will but they're heading towards a pretty big PR disaster with the caddies if they're not careful.

As to Stenson being put on the clock. If you're playing too slow - play faster. The rules are what they are. The only problem is the apparent lack of consistent enforcement. If you're going to have rules enforce them thoroughly on EVERYONE. Big names and little names. But the PGA doesn't really want the rounds to speed up too much. It'll cut into their advertising revenue.

stenson's pace of play is ridiculous at some point the PGA is going to have to make a statement and do something to a bigger name

as for the caddie stuff it is ridiculous as well

Thanks Pingeye for adding the pic! Certainly not as bold as what I've seen some LPGA caddies wear. This whole situation is getting out of hand. Wonder what Teddy B has to say about all of it!

I don't remember the exact wording but caddies do have a dress code. No printed shorts must be solid. Don't remember if the policy states specific colors to wear or avoid.. I know shoes must either be white or black. I had to buy my caddie a pair of new shoes in 2013 at the FEDEX St Jude in Memphis so I didn't get disqualified... He had bright pink nike ID's!

Not saying you are wrong or mistaken BUT I distinctly recall Martin Kaymer's caddie wearing a neon yellow pair of Adidas running shoes that I also own at the Player's and US Open last year.
Think he was fined or anyone said anything to him?

Maybe it's not a rule if you're a part of a top golfer's entourage? haha

I could see them having a note *only applicable if your golfer is out of the top 100

I do know caddies are to avoid bright colors as not distract their or other players... I'm playing in my 3rd St Jude this year and I'll be sure my caddie is properly dressed!

Nah he needs some LoudMouth shorts and one of those shirts that's so bright it needs an "off" switch! Or just dress him in all khaki haha

But again, another reason why the tour might make it jumpsuits only or when it's below a certain temp.

Baby steps...at least they can now wear shorts instead of long pants. That in itself was a huge victory. It does seem a bit like a homeowners association lately though.

The Tour's stance with caddies is absolutely ridiculous and there really is no need for it. I just wish that one or two of the top players would come out and say something about it. Someone needs to be the firing gun for it to get something sorted.

The ridiculous thing is that they don't seem to care what the players are wearing. As an example, the last time I saw someone walking around with two odd shoes it was a drunk hobo on Union Street in Aberdeen yet the Tour has no issue with Danny Lee trying to recreate that look but a caddie wearing shorts that umpteen other guys are probably wearing at clubs up and down the country. Crazy, nothing but crazy. I really hope the caddies can get one over on the PGA Tour, the guys sitting in their silly looking clubhouse at Ponte Vedre deserve nothing less

Caddies get treated horribly by the Tour. I wonder how the Tour would feel if no caddies showed up at an important event (the caddies would be there for the practice rounds, but the first day of the event, they were all no shows).

You would think at some point the players would start sticking up for them.
