Hall of Fame Instructional Threads - an ongoing compilation

I thought I would start a compilation here of the biggest and best threads of all time in our Instruction & Academy forum.

There have been SO many great conversations here over the years, but they tend to get buried and covered up by new posts or new forums members asking stuff that's been covered well before.

Please reply with links to threads and posts (or even new sections) that you think I should include, and I'll continue editing this post and organizing its links into topics. When someone does nominate a thread, please hit the Like button on their nomination to help me decide whether or not to include it here.

What I'm looking for is lively, thought-provoking discussions... not necessarily those you (or I) agree with. Keeping an open mind and taking in information that is potentially counter to your beliefs is, I think, a great way to learn more about this game we love.

Pro-tip: when searching for threads, use Google with a couple of keywords and add "site:golfwrx.com" to the search. Works much better than the forum search feature and tends to return the most popular threads first.

If this does prove to be a good collection and guide to the great content here, my hope is the mods will Pin the post... but we'll see how it goes I guess.

Everyone has there own list for sure, happy to see the OP's personal list, but doubt there would be any consensus for the 1000s of members.

Some 5 year old and even a 10 year old thread? Hmmmm, but again it's subjective. "Hall of Fame" has different meaning for each person so not sure why we would ever "pin" a thread of personal opinions about which of the 1000s of threads some like and some don't when we have a good search engine and the evolution of threads and turnover of threads keeps things fresh, IMO. Pinned threads in this forum are pretty much reserved for instructional sponsors, anyway, a bunch were "unpinned" not too long ago as I recall which made sense at the time, again, evolution.

The fact this has already inspired any reference to Jeff Mann and some threads with nothing but a lot of troll efforts may give one pause, but not seeing the need for a "catalog" - pretty easy to find interesting material.

Will enjoy seeing who likes what, maybe I'll see an old discussion I forgot about and smile.

All I know is that when I'm bored with the latest threads on the front page, I like to go deep-diving into the archives and soak in the various points of views that have been generously shared and vigorously debated over the years.

On reddit, looking up the Top All Time threads in a subreddit is easy... but here it is not, unless we keep a list like this compiled, updated, and (hopefully) pinned. If you agree, please send a short note to the mods requesting they pin this topic.

Delving back into this lot is like a trip down memory lane. So many aha moments contained within these pages.

I foresee many, many, many quick trips to the range the next few days. Me to wife: Be right back. Need to go try something.

Having all of these in one spot is just gold.
