Ping Glide Forged Wedges Reviews

Very Few very Few glide forged wedge reviews on wrx.

Picking up some Ping Irons and I'm thinking about pairing them up with these beautiful wedges.

Anyone play them? Any reviews out there?

How is the feel ? Spin? Consistency ?

they look unreal. Remindes me of the 2nd gen Anser Forged Irons

Best wedge I’ve hit in a long time. All around a wonderful wedge. Feel , spin and sole designs just work for me. Nice compact size too.

I tried these today - they are flipping amazing.

The feel is insane good. not sure about spin but the looks / feel are 2nd to none. I'll own them soon enough

They did. Weirdly enough the spin was quite a bit lower than the 2.0.

Lower spin maybe true. I haven’t hit mine in a monitor. But I do carry them a little farther. Which to me is a good thing. I’ve never looked for extra spin from a wedge. Always trying to control the spin I have.

Me personally I like the slightly larger club head of the Glide 2.0 Wedges. Need some new wedges this year and Glide 2.0 are top of my list mainly for this reason.

For someone who wants a more compact Wedge, the Glide Forged are really good looking wedges.

Have only hit the Glide 2.0 but if PING makes it, it isn't going to suck...

soft feeling wedges. Look amazing. A bit shorter than others with the same loft. Lob wedges are easy to flop. Great overall

Damn. I might need to check them out. I generally love the Glide 2.0’s but I spin them much more than I’d like. I’m Constantly going up a wedge and hitting easier so I dont suck the ball back off the front of the green.

Fantastic wedge! Soft, loads of spin and forgiving. Goose neck hosel makes these set up perfect. Only downside is the lack of additional bounce and grind options. If you are a standard 10* bounce user these are great.

I like them better than anything else I've tried. I've never had the urge to change to anything newer and that's saying something for me.

ive had tons of range time and just general practice time with this is wedge.

They're very nice. Unfortunately the stock shaft is very light and whippy if you're used to heavy wedges. I was hitting moon balls with them. To the point that I would literally never take a full swing with them. Ever. Great for forcing me to dial in my partials. I've back to Vokey now and loving that I can get the full swing results I was missing.

I hate any sort of offset in my wedges.

IMO glide 2.0 perform much better & I like the slightly larger head size.

It's really interesting on one hand it seems like Ping is maybe changing and starting to fit a different demographic having changed product cycles then making all of these forged projects, blade irons etc all. I can't help but wonder how strong Marty J's personal influence is? At the same time he qualified for the PGA I think primarily with clubs he designed? Congrats Marty Jertson that's a dream come true keep at it!

From another angle maybe they are doing exactly what Ping has always done? Either way it's interesting to see where this is going.

What does goose neck hosel mean ?

By ‘gooseneck’ I mean that the hosel into head transition sort of bends back into the larger amount of offset.

It’s a look I have never liked.

Exactly yeah, the transition mainly. not sure what the offset numbers are, but looked to be a lot more on it than on my glide 2.0’s.

Mizuno short irons have historically given me the creeps for the same reason...

Just had a look. My glide 2.o have less than half the offset of the forged, but the numbers aren’t really the thing, it’s more the transition I suspect

Just put the order in for these bad boys. Pumped for my 54 and 60. Gonna go seamlessly with my i210 3i-uw on the way. STOKED

they look unreal and feel great the more i mess around with them the more i like them. I like the simplicity - one grind full sole mid bounce nothing to think about

Im hitting the I210 so well I might consider the glide forged wedges.

I have the glide forged in a 50 and 54. Definitely the best feeling wedges I've ever played. Ive actually found they spin very well, especially on short pitches and chips

Only complaint is they're only in a satin finish so sometimes the glare is very bad. I think all the time about sending them in to get refinished to a matte black or matte bronze finish.
