Taylormade HL 3W Options

I currently game an aeroburner tp 16.5 HL. I really like it but it’s getting a little beat up. Would like to stick with TM and I see there is a few options. I was hoping for some feedback and figuring out which was the best of the group. Looking for something I can tee up but more so get it off the deck in fairways/light rough. Any thoughts on which is most forgiving first and then long? Not keen on draw bias!

Almost all will be more forgiving than the Aero TP

M2s and M4 are great probably a little bigger and more draw biased

M2 Tour is going to be a totally different headshape, Amazing Deep Face Bomber

M1/M3 is probably going to be most similar shape/size wise

I would also look into the trying to find a fresh version of the TP, its a stellar fairway

I picked up a tour issued 2017 m1 3hl last year just to experiment with. It has been an amazing club for me. I have played several versions of the 2016 M2 deep face and this one is better for me. The actual loft is 16.5° and I turn it down to 14.5°. Makes it fade bias and still super easy to hit off the deck. Also a bomber off the tee.

Dumb question... when you guys say 2016 m2 “deep face” what do you mean? Was there different versions in 2016? Thanks again.

That was a tour issue model with the paint break around the hosel and full face scoring lines. It had a deeper face and tour profile compared to the retail M2 fairway. Plays closer to the 2017 M2 Tour.

I found the 2017 to have a little higher flight and easier to hit, not by a ton on either. You could also throw the M3 in there as well, I liked that a little better than the M1's. Seemed to spin a little less for me and more neutral biased. I'm actually still using the SLDR 3HL, though.

Good call, i missed that the m3 comes in 17* HL. Too many options!

Coincidentally, I have a 2017 M2 Tour 16.5 HL that I may be putting on BST/Ebay soon as I'm transitioning away from a 3 wood. Shafted with Aldila Green Mamba 70TX. Let me know if this interests you.

M3 HL 3w has been great for me. I think it might be the first time I haven't been actively searching for something better. It's easy to elevate from the fairway or light rough. **As a bonus, you can also use the weight channel on the bottom as a bottle cap opener. ;)**

I have that same club. Love it (dont know why I just ordered a Rogue 4 wood :s ) but that white does get nasty looking. If you really like that club, send it to continental and get a paint job on it. They'll do an awesome job. If you're set on getting a new 3/4 wood, I can post my results after I get the rogue out there.

I'm leaning to either the m4 or the 2017 m2. Both are a bit larger, however I'm slightly worried about how well they work off the deck. Anyone know if one is more shallow than the other or if one performs better off the turf?

I have the M4 but in a 15* and it's super easy to hit off the deck and even better off the tee obviously.

I did this same search this past winter and went with the 2017 M2 because of the slightly bigger head for tee shots, but it really is impressive how easy it is to hit off the ground. Everything I read was that they're all really good, just pick the head size and trajectory you're looking for.

I just got a M4 Tour HL 16.5* off the bay and absolutely love it. I previously had a 2016 M2 13* and it honestly went too far. I realized I was facing shots where I knew I couldn't get there with my UDI 2 iron unless I crushed it but I couldn't swing full with my 3 wood because it might go way over. The M4 16.5* is way more forgiving in my opinion, especially off the deck. Get a tour issue with open face and a hot melt port and it will definitely not be draw biased.

tm 2017 m1 is my favourite .

the m2 tour is nice. Little more compact but it is a glued hosel,,, pain for trying new shafts
