Is a Clicgear cart that much better?

Kingdom59 has clicgear 3.5's for sale for $189.00. I currently use an intech pull begin cart that my parents got me for Christmas las year. It works fine, and has saved my back a bit. Being the club/gear ho I am, I was wondering if a Clicgear cart would be that much different and thus worth the money. I always walk, never ride and using a cart has been making my back feel a lot better on my mountainous home course. What would I gain from upgrading to a clicgear? My current cart doesn't have much in the way of features. I know the clicgear had a brake, compartments etc. should I go for it?

Isn't that a pretty common price for the 3.5?

If you are a kid, (and/or if cost is an issue), why not pick up a NOS or used 3.0?

I think my 3.0 works better than some of the 3.5s I have used at other clubs. I have had trouble with the lower strap and lower brace on the last 3.5 I used....screwed up my bag as the front wheel rubbed almost all 18 holes...

Good point, didn't even think of that. Looked on eBay and didn't find too many used but I'm not in a rush to grab one. I'll wait until one crosses the BST I guess. I'm 21, have the money to buy one but just wondering if it was worth laying out the cash for an upgrade

My Clicgear is one of the few golf related items that ive ever bought and had absolutely no regrets about.

Love my 3.0. Well worth it.

the push cart is a lot easier than a pull cart in general....whether it be a clicgear or not. but i do own the 3.5 and love it.

The best money I spent on golf was my rangefinder and... My clicgear. Best cart ever.

I use it, and its a sturdy good cart and works very well. Is it that much better (?), no. The Sun***
with foam wheels rolls easier.

IMO the 3.5 or 3.0 is the best pushcart on the market... I've had people argue that their sunmountain was better until they gave my clicgear a push.. Also you cannot beat how compact the Clicgear folds for storage...

As for the comment above saying how the individual liked their 3.0 vs the 3.5.... I'm not sure I follow.. they're almost exactly the same, the only major difference is the strap system which the 3.5 is superior.

Mine is a 1.0

I prefer the spoke style rims with the air tires... Not a fan of plastic wheels.

I can only compare it to the Sun Mountain and Bag Boy carts. I think the Clicgear is no better or worse than the Sun Mountain. It does fold up a bit smaller. I do thing the Sun Mountain and Clicgear are slightly more sturdy and long-lasting than the Bag Boy equivalent. But then again they cost a bit more.

That's code speak for Clickgear would get pissed off at them if they advertised the price and undersold most of their other sellers.

I bought Clickgear because the tires on my Sun mountain kept going flat. The Clickgear
folds better, but the Sun Mountain roles easier. Not a big deal, both are very good.

Not with the clique gear. I got one for $180 from golf smith a few weeks ago. Was under one of their promotions plus free shipping. I think they are trying to clear out inventory now for a new model next year. Just starting earlier since carts don't sell as fast as clubs.

Ahhhh thanks for the clarification!

besides the looks, clicgear is a pain to push around. my oldschool sunmountain speedcart gets around the course a lot easier. i know it has to do with wheels, but the clicgear is a heavy sucker.

ya i agree the clic-gear seem kinda bulky and heavy at times, but the quality is second to none.

You can also email them. I bought my 2.0 5 years ago, they saved over $50 and they shipped it for free.

The point here is not to rat out their pricing in a public forum. Don't mess up a good thing!

I won't say exactly what the price was, but I just called and they weren't any better. However the free shipping does sweeten the deal...
