Info Needed- Mr Corey Pavin's 1995 US OPEN Victory Bag

Hello folks,

 

Looking for as much info on "what's in The Bag" for Mr. Pavin's 1995 US Open victory. Seen old footage that he was using Cleveland and possibly a Bullseye putter.

 

Can't find any links or articles on what he was using in his bag in 1995 US open.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

The VAS irons are probably the most ridiculous irons ever - at least to ever win a major championship...

Just goes to show it's the indian and not the arrow. I'd love to try a set. The leading edge looks sharpish though which is a pet peeve of mine. I talked a friend into buying a set of the VAS+ irons back in the day and he loved them.

 

The Maltby data shows they have a high CG, and the CG is toward the heel side. Most likely because the hosel attaches so high up on the face. MPF rating is -197. The lowest rating of just about any iron they have ever rated.

Just looked at pics from 95 open. He was clearly using a 8802 type Cleveland putter. I'm surprised too. I thought he was always a bullseye guy.

Can anyone recall what Corey used before he went to Cleveland?

 

In the early '90s he had a titleist bag but the irons were dark headed (unchromed or gunmetal) cavity backs. What were they?

I have always wondered about this saying. Wouldn't the arrow be the ball, and the club the bow?

My father played the VAS 792 for years. They were sh*t-ugly, but they performed surprisingly well. I played a few rounds with them, they were easy to hit, slightly workable, feel was really OK. They went a little high for my swing style, other than that real good clubs. The woods were equally hideous, but they transmitted zero feel to the hands. Results were so-so, but they just felt dead for me.
