Cobra F9 driver destroyed!

Actually impressive how far out on the toe those tee marks are.

That head must be coming in open at about a 45* angle!

That guy must be able to hit one HELL of a slice.

I remember that thread, your pics were no where close to these ones...theres exploded missing carbon and smash in trauma while face is perfectly in tact. The second you swung a club with anywhere near that damage you would hear it and stop to see whats going on, dark sim or not youd never hit another ball and not notice - impossible. It stinks. Just tell us the whole story, perhaps the toe shot started it and you all wanted to see how bad you could mashit up?? It still couldve failed warranty and you all gave it the business after but not your story...sounds like my 8yr olds version of how it broke on its own and he was just standing near it...

A lot of damage, not saying it is impossible but there does look to be some evidence of something dragging across he face/toe.. at least to me it looks that way. I would expect it to break or crack along the epoxy lines mostly, this just looks like A LOT more force was applied to the crown/toe... Looks like it got slammed on the pavement, but I would love to be proven wrong. Also interested as to what Cobra says...

I would love to know what cobras response was in this case. I had the same thing happen to me today (although not as bad). Its a shame because I love this driver but with all the examples of this i'm
finding I might have to go another route next time. I have emailed Cobra and awaiting their response.

I've watched enough Forensic Files to know those are high velocity entry wounds to driver and not exit wounds from a ball-face contact.

Yours is at least believable and along the lines of what you’d expect. I think you’d have no issues sending that in for replacement...although it could take a while now with everything going on.

Update: Cobra sent me a new F9 head no questions asked. Great customer service.

This JUST happened to me, drove a ball and it sounded like a gunshot......my buddies had never seen anything like this either. Waiting to hear from puma support

after reading two pages full of WRXperts being so certain this failure wasn’t legit, I wasn’t expecting a second instance. Did your club look like the OP’s?

Correct. I broke a ping g400lst and kept hitting drivers for another 20 balls on the range. Pieces of titanium were flying off.

Just had a similar experience with a cobra sz I bought used from pga super store about a week ago.
