Not just Titleist, lot of guys use a pitching wedge like a Vokey, Nike, Callaway MD2, etc over the set PW. Usually its the guy playing 3 total wedges opposed to 4. The set PW flies a little further and something like a Vokey in 47-49 degrees is a lot easier to hit 3/4 shots and control distance versus one from the set.

Pretty putter, ugly rest of the bag. If he could get the rest of the bag sorted out to match how perfect that putter is….then he'd have a sweet setup.

I know I hit my PW pretty often. The grooves on forged irons wear down. I replaced my pw simply because the grooves were shot. I've heard some guys replace their wedges a couple times a season. Just throwing that out there are probably many many reasons

I'm not sure why you're mention Webb. He had been playing the 680's for years and tried the AP2's for part of last season before switching back. Adam hasn't played for 680's for probably 5 years.

If they prefer the feel and performance of a Vokey, then that means there is something wrong with the Titleist PW, specifically, it doesn't have the feel and performance of Vokeys.

The sole grind is different on the 680s. Thin sole, not a lot of bounce, and then a killed leading edge. Great grind for a lot of people, particularly sweepers.

Tiger I believe used 681 and from a story I read many years ago, apparently the 681 came from his scoring avg. of 68.1

Well in case your were unaware the K grind was made for and named after Tom Kite. One of the best wedge players of all time and also a guy who didn't exactly have the steepest angle of attack. Even though the wedge has a wider sole it has very low effective bounce. I have seen Voke vary the bounce on these wedges between 4 and 8 degrees and they will fit for a wide range of players. DLIII has used this grind for years and I know Duf has had it in the bad for some time now as well. its very versatile.

It's an AD DI painted black, same as it has been for a while.

Also that commercial isn't new.

You are correct. That definitely is the BB, not the DI. I was wondering why he was swinging that also. He probably was just testing it.
