Quick story at Denver muni a few years ago... on a hole next to a busy road, I hit my drive right, playing partner hits left just a few feet from the road. I hit my ball and look across the fairway to see a car screech to a halt in the middle of traffic and the lady in the car screaming at my playing partner for about 30 seconds, then speed off. We get to the green and I ask what that was.... he says like's it's no big deal: "oh yea... that's my ex, I told her I couldn't watch our kid today because I had to work."

When you're about to take your approach and then you realize there isn't a green, merely gravel with crime scene tape around it. A sign in front of the green read, "Green under repair until further notice, most likely not completed soon. Pick up ball and move on. Add one stroke if close, if not, add one stroke anyways." It was dated April of 2001. We just played it last Summer.
