X2 Hot pro. Swing it like a 5 iron set just slightly forward in your stance. Its the only hybrid I've tried and not hooked.

I haven't spent much time with this but the X2 Hot Pro is a great looking club. Callaway really nailed the look there. Can also upgrade to the F3 Motore HB shaft for free.

i used to have a problem hitting hybrids too until i discovered you should hit them like the irons they're supposed to replace..

previously i was hitting them like fairway woods...

..keep in mind that hybrids are NOT distance clubs---they are ACCURACY clubs..

as a 68 year old senior with a driver ss between 90-95--215-225 yds carry--i can no longer elevate my longer clubs like before when i was a 3 hdcp in my 20s and a single handicap till my early 50s...but with my hybrids i now can..

i now play mainly for enjoyment and exercise and still have "flashes of brilliance" wherein i will break 80 on courses not longer than 6100 yards but my hdcp now fluctuates from a low of 12 to a high of 15 lately...

note from my signature that i carry 5 hybrids from 3H to 7H and they are all part of a matching set so the gaps are quite consistent...and my 32* 7H is a joy to hit!

i also suggest that if you will carry more than one (1) hybrid get them in the same brand and model--and shafts--for more consistency in the gaps..

i also use graphite japanspec R-flex shafts in my driver and 4/7-wood and lite-flex graphite in all the rest of my clubs except for the putter..

hope this helps..

BTW the 7-wood is also a very versatile club if you want to go that route but just not as accurate vs it's equivalent hybrid.

I've got the same irons as you and always hated hybrids, but needed something more versatile than my 5w from the rough, long fairway bunker shots, etc... I tried a bunch but hit the G25 well and it suited my eye probably because of my 3w and driver. I went with a 17º and choke down on it or shorten the swing for shorter distances. I also use the same swing as my irons on it and it launches high, much higher than the Anser that was my second choice.

I am tall also and always feel like they have more upright lie angle.

Would the A12 pro still launch pretty easily? I associate the "pro" as in lower launching for some reason.
[/quote]has a smallish head...yeah it gets up in air, problem with easy to launch gi hybrids is they are draw biased with even more upright lie.....I have to hit tour or pro versions as they seem to be more fade biased

I hit reg shaft in 18 deg hyb and stiff in 23....reason is I can get 23 deg up easier but 18 is harder to launch because of loft...shafts are 85gram and hold well....I dont have an issue with reg flex at all....driver SS 105+

brand new demo I bought for $49

I hit new adams xtd ti and it was pretty fricken sweet but $300, no thanks

I have the same problem with inconsistent hybrids. I picked up a 7w V Steel and it has helped with the gap where i used to hit hybrid. It is a small profile fairway, but so much easier to hit. You can usually find them for about $20 - $30 so it may be worth a try. I got mine with steel shaft originally, but just changed it out for something more similar to my 4w. I am keeping the steel in the event that the new shaft doesn't perform how I want it.

It does have a tingy high pitched sound to it. I can deal with the sound all day long if they keep performing like they have so far.

Sounds crazy, and probably is, but when I switched my hybrids to steel shafts, I finally understood the hype. Never could get into them with graphite, but with steel...just like a long iron, only forgiving.

I've only really ever hit one hybrid well - the sldr tp.

Every other hybrid I've ever had I hit high blocks way right.

I also think heavier shafts might be the ticket?

I know this may seem crazy but I have always had the same problem with hybrids a strong hook. Not to mention I have never been a fan of the large head on most. I recently put one of the new Adams Pro mini hybrids in the bag and absolutely love it. Great ball flight with a small confidence inspiring head and an absolute rocket off the tee with a slight 5 yard fade off the tee consistently. I know this club might not be for everyone but coming from someone with the same problem with previous hybrids it may be worth a try. If you like a larger head the regular Pro model performed the same for me I just prefer a smaller head on a hybrid.

This. I play steel in all my hybrids now.

I had issues with hybrids also and could never hit them. I took a 910 h and reshafted it with a Kbs tour hybrid steel shaft and it has become one of my favorite clubs. I guess the steel shaft makes me hit it more kije an iron.

Really liking the Ping Anser 23 degree, has a great sound at impact & pretty easy to launch high. I tend to over hook my hybrids as well, I try and hit them like a fairway wood, sweeping it off the turf.

Lots of great suggestions. I think I might try the Adams A12 Pro. They are pretty cheap, so even if its a failure wont be a big loss.

Pros have told me that my swing is very well suited for woods and problematic for irons (which is spot on, I feel better hitting my 3W off the deck than a 6i). I couldn't hit any hybrids until I tested TM SLDR. I picked up the 2H and 3H and I'm going to be switching out the Miura 4H for the SLDR as well.

I did the exact same thing with my Nike Covert 3H and 4H. Now I hit them great. I just can't hit hybrids with graphite shafts in them.

Hybrids have always been inconsistent for me. The rescue 11 seemed to be the best, but even then I was only about 60% with my shots. Yet, I always keep a hybrid for the gap, and that deep grass punch out I find at least once every other round. I pretty much concluded that my
Hybrid will be a weak spot in bag for me. Until I tried the SLDR hybrid (not SLDR s). Thing just fit ME and MY swing well. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try. May work for you
