So I am down in Key Largo playing Ocean Reef in a Pro-Am with work because we are sponsoring the event. We are all playing our own ball and taking 2 best ball scores (1 gross and 1 net). The pro and I are playing off scratch but there is also a pro tournament for lowest gross score over the 2 days so he is really trying to play hard for the prize money. There is also a skins game going on. Anywho.. I made eagle on #8 for a $1200 skin and my boss thinks we should split the skin because it would be respectful to our "pro". The way I look at it, I had to not only beat everyone in the field on that hole, I had to beat the people IN my group to win the skin so why split? I didn't say anything but I think it is a ridiculous thing to do. We each paid into the skins game, why on earth would i split a skin that I won fair and square myself? All the members at Ocean Reef are millionaires and billionaires yet i am pressured into dividing my skin that is a substantial amount of cash to me and mere pocket change to them. Do I have a case here considering I am here on our businesses dime as a sponsor? If our pro made the eagle would HE split the skin with us? I'm betting not. If You think I should keep it, how do I say no without being a ****** when they hand the cash to us in the morning?

Btw I tied our pro with a 71 in the first round as well. If I was in the pro event id be T-2 right now but I will definitely not be getting any of that purse... Kind of irritated about the whole thing but I understand both angles

Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place because I know they give the skin to the pro and he passes it along to the person in the group before our round tomorrow. I wish we would have discussed the skins before we teed off because this sucks. I also missed a freaking 6 footer on the previous par 5 for eagle. Could have taken a larger chunk of the skins if I drain them both

I won a skin at a pro am at Wuskhowan, playing with doz, od, and a pro, and there was never any question about splitting it. It got paid out to the pro, and he passed it on to me. If you bought into the skins pot, I don't see why you'd split it.

As I look back on my season, my putting let me down. I dropped 2 strokes on my handicap this year (I thank the G30 LS and Vokey 58K for that), but probably have another 2-3 to drop from putting (combination of misreads and poor execution).

Exactly, unless there was specific talk on the 1st tee about TEAM skins .. it's an individual skins game.
Now for the hard part ... you have to judge how it will impact your standing with your boss (if you're there on work dime)
