Pro-Am down at Lakes Of The North today...never seen the place, shoud be interesting.
Played Heather last night, greens were fair...i believe they are letting them stay shaggy until later this week when they get turned to lightning!

With the hot temps coming, they might not be able to get them super fast.

I haven't played LotN since I was a kid, but I remember it being a goat farm. Not sure if they've made improvements since then. It was pretty easy, though. I think it was the first course where I ever broke 80.

Just golfed hawk hallow yesterday. Was a very nice course, one of the best I've been to

The original 18 at Hawk is really good and I think is under appreciated with Eagle Eye across the street.

That is awesome KB. Golf course design has always been fascinating to me. How do they start with this mass of land/trees/dirt/creeks and make it into a golf course. Pretty cool use of the drone. I have always wondered about this while spending time at Kingsley...."who the hell thought this could be a golf course???"

OW, where were those pictures taken? Sorry if I missed it posted somewhere.

Played Butler National in a caddy tournament today. It's a Ryder Cup style match (9 holes best ball, 9 holes alt. shot, 9 holes singles).

I played pretty well. Won 3&2, 4&3, 5&4. The guy I played wasn't all that great which was different. I made a ton of pars, but I didn't make a birdie all day. I never needed to so I lagged a lot of putts from 10-20 feet. It was nice to win big in all of the matches.

The course was in great shape. They didn't mow the greens so they were a little slow. Other than that I don't have a single complaint.

I picked up a nike toe sweep 60, it was great around the greens but I couldn't get used to it on full swings so I went back to the scratch that's been in the bag for 2+ years. I hit 60 up to 110 so not being great on full shots is not an option. Lipped out from 100 first swing in a publinx match after switching back and the engage has been sitting in the garage since.

There is a huge thread in the equipment forum about them. From what I am gathering, Toe Sweep in the 56(if that is what you use out of the sand), Dual Sole in the 60, and Square in the 52 if your bag breaks down that way. Going to hopefully demo them this weekend. The TS doesn't work great on a full shot, but is apparently close to unfair out of the sand, that's how good it is.

As has been mentioned in there you need to open it up way less than normal, once you get it down it's very effective although more of a "chunk and run" feel because it doesn't spin as much as usual for me. I thought it was even better from crap lies in the rough but I've also been a pretty good bunker player.

Edit- might work well for OW now that I think about it. If anyone wants to give it a go for a couple rounds shoot me your shipping address.

very straight forward layout...from tips was 6950ish (it's biggest defense) greens hadn't been aerated or veritcut in years...was like walking on foam rubber..hard to stick a divot tool in there was so much thatch, needless to say i was behind almost every flag all day as i couldn't get a shot to hold (even with the 64deg from 60 yds!)

i have hit them...hated them..terrible turf interaction..have 3 pros with them here, and I have done grind work on ALL of them (mostly heel relief)

This would be the configuration I would be looking at, with perhaps a 50 instead of 52. Please give me your review. Just not in love with my Vokeys. I had one set of VR forged Pro wedges many years ago that I really liked. The toe sweep would be interesting in a 56 but wouldn't want it in a 60.

I went to practice putting twice yesterday after rolling it like garbage in a tournament on Sunday (including a missed 2 footer that didn't touch the hole), and thankfully, I got something to click. Rolled it much better this morning, and I feel good about my game for the most part going into the Mid-Am (probably the kiss of death).

I am going to the mid-am to enjoy the competition and have fun. I never know what game I will have day to day. Shot -2 last night in league and swept up $120 with a $6 prize entry, but I might shot 90 tomorrow. I will have fun either way.

:rofl::censored2::censored2::censored2:
I marked it and lined it up and everything. And then I pulled it by about 3 inches. Stroke got all out of whack over the past week or so, but I figured out what I was doing yesterday (after about 45 minutes of frustration at lunch -- went back after work to make sure I had it down.) Who knows, when I get under the gun on Thursday, it could all go to hell again, but like KB said, I'm going to have fun and play as well as I can and add them up at the end. Making a long weekend of it, heading down to TC afterward, and lots of good food and drink will be enjoyed.
