3J, ur love affair with G30 LS is becoming a little...well...unnatural. Lol.
Wish it was a fit for me, but not.

I haven't taken it to bed with me...yet.

Don't sleep with unless you want it to go all crazy and get clingy. At least that is how I remeber it working back in the day.

booooooo. Gbone, thought you already had one down in FL?

Swiz, yes I did... But it was a demo. So it was an inch too long and FOUR swing weights too heavy. Made me doubt it was for me, but we have worked through all that now... Thank goodness.

Have any of you played Whittaker Woods? I saw it on golfnow, they want $50 a round right now.... Seems a bit steep for March golf in 40* weather. Is it worth that kind of money this time of year?

Don't do it now. It's a pretty nice course nothing spectacular, but good nonetheless. If you wait it out you can't get tee time for about $20 at twilight I believe and sometimes just a little more during weekdays.

Played Hawk Hollow tonight getting in a twilight 9. That course is always in good shape and is well on its way. Greens ran considerably slow given the course is still quite soggy, but you could tell they had been rolled and mowed several times already which was nice to roll some decent putts as those greens always are true. That wind on the other hand was brutal.

I got out for 9 today. I couldn't stand to not hit the new shaft I got on Saturday. Plus I've been sick since Saturday afternoon and could finally walk around today.

Went out and shot a 40. I had the same issues as Flint on the greens. They were almost unplayable they were so soggy and slow, but hey I'm golfing in March so I won't complain.

As for the new shaft (Whiteboard 72X), it was incredibly straight. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get it airborne so I had the driver set to 10.5 which was too high, but even then it didn't move more than 5 yards the whole time. I might have found something for a little while.

Best day of the forecast to plan a simulator play date. Calling for a numbing temp to be only in the low 30s. How do you compare dialing in your distances on a sim rather than doing it outside. I would think that a sim wouldn't be nearly as accurate taking a shag bag, some aim sticks and a rangefinder out to a local park, but that's just me, I'd like to hear your input calibrating yardage on a sim.

That's probably true, but I wanted to try out OU's simulator and see what the numbers are. I haven't used it before, but it looks cool. They have the same one as the golf channel, which is supposed to be pretty accurate. I still remember where I was from last season so I will have that as a reference, although I did get a new 3 wood and driver over the winter. If nothing else, it will be a range session with some feedback and decent draft beer ;)

Is it an About Golf sim? I find them to be fairly accurate at handling carry yardages. Roll out is always a question mark for me. I like to hit a lot of knock down shots into greens, and the sim gets the carry right, but they check wayyy too hard compared to real life.

I'll find out the manufacturer tmrw. My experiment on all other sim's has been the same. Accurate carry, inaccurate roll out.

A few years ago I actually changed my driver swing to increase my launch angle because the numbers were embarrassing lol. The swing change also helped my distance numbers in real world golf too, so that was a plus.

I did the same after discovering trackman. Thought I hit it ~250, was 8* from the inside and 6* down which gave me launch angles of like 7 and 220 carry. Now I'm 4* up, launch it in an entirely different window, and carry it 260 if hit well.

Good to see you getting use out of the place so soon, you sounded excited about joining and should have a great time all year. I'd imagine gapping on a good aim should work just fine as carry is the only distance that matters. My CC opened yesterday and my liver is paying for it today.

Does anyone know if Miles carries Armlock putters?
[/quote]

Hit or miss, see a few back there sometimes but random brands and some could be belly putters because I don't pick them up. As far as I know nobody carries the betti, I'd like to try the new offset setup but haven't seen one anywhere.

I boxed up that arm lock, set it in the garage, and completely forgot about it. I shipped it out yesterday morning, should be there today or tomorrow at the latest. Try it out as long as you want, the model 2 is firmly locked in the bag for season 3.

Just a heads up on the aboutGolf sims. I played the one at Taylor Meadows last week and I was getting GolfWRX type yardages (290yrd drives and 150yd gap wedges) so I asked the guy running it what's up. He said almost everyone swings slower inside so they jack up the yardages so its more realistic. He showed me the settings and I think he re-set them to 7-4-4 (or that's where they were - I'm not sure)

if your'e going to use it for yardages then make sure you ask the guy to turn down the settings.

First off: I can't stand to see the Ohio thread above this one, which is why I'm posting this.

Second off: Had an awesome basketball day today. I'll catch some flack for this I'm sure, but ND won and actually looked good doing it. I know I'm from Michigan, but I live 30 minutes from the campus so it's hard to not be a fan. More importantly, my alumni Florida Southern won their semifinals game and are in the D-II National Championship. Now my big decision is do I drive the 5:30 to watch them play on Saturday or not...

Here's a little story that will make you hate the airlines....

So my wife picks me up from the airport on Monday as I am returning from her cousin's bachelor party weekend in Vegas, and after I throw my stuff in the car she tells me I reek like booze. I respond that I haven't drank all day and had a shower and everything. Anyway, we get home and I bring my golf travel bag in the house and I can now smell the booze too.

I had 3/4 of a bottle of Woodford Reserve in my golf bag and the airlines apparently roughed it up enough that the top came off and the contents spilled all throughout my bag. None of my more expensive stuff like my shoes and my range finder were damaged, but the bag is pretty much trashed. I'd only had it for one season, so that made it suck even more.

I might be able to spray the old one down with the hose and let it air out to the point it's useable, but I can't even try that until it warms up.

Needless to say I have a brand new golf bag now...

Next time this happens do the following and you'll be all set.

1) draw a bath using hot water about 3/4 full and dump 3/4 cup of laundry detergent under the faucet to activate the suds

2) empty bag of all its contents and spray the whole thing with purple power and scrub into any surface stains

3) place bag in bath and let sit

4) the longer it soaks the more clean it will get but let it soak at least over night or 8hrs as minimum.

5) take out the bag and let air dry with the stand kicked out.

Had a chance to get on Trackman today and the numbers with the LST are pretty good.

105 SS
154 BS
13* Launch
2800 RPM
253 Carry
281 Total

SS was usually between 103 - 104, but I had 2 that got up to 110 to bring the average up. Best of all, it was straight - even on a couple bad swings.

If I'd seen this yesterday, I might have rethought the six beers I brought down to Austin for my brother-in-law. I put each one in a gallon plastic bag (knowing if one broke, I would probably still be hosed) and wrapped them up really well in some clothes, and in a couple shoes. Fortunately, they all made it intact, or I'd have a bag that smells like IPA.

Are those your typical spin numbers? I know when I got fitted last year I was low 2's.
