Tall poppy syndrome is the social phenomenon of the masses becoming jealous of an individual being more successful than them, and tryi g to cut them down to size. It is an Australian (and obviously also NZ) thing, usually inflicted upon highly successful people who flaunt it. Greg Norman has been a victim of tall poppy syndrome his whe life, some people just keep looking t they find something to hate about him. Chamblees hostility towards Tiger is an American example. Robert Allenby? I don't see him being a big enough fish to be the victim of tall poppy syndrome. He is disliked purely on his own merits.

It pretty much falls in with the theory that he went to a strip club after the wine bar got super trashed. somewhere in there, he passed out and the homeless people found them.

Allenby Is now staunchly reaffirming the claim that the lies were not his lies. But simply the story that other people told to him. Of course, none of these other people give any indication that that was ever their story.
Police are not investigating this is an assault. They're not investigating it is an abduction. They're not even investigating it as a robbery. The sole focus now seems to be the credit card fraud, based on someone still using the card.

If Allenby didn't report the card missing or stolen and allows the unauthorized charges to continue, couldn't he be liable? I seriously doubt the card issuer will cover the charges as fraud.

Denver- plus, what if the person caught using the card states that Allenby voluntarily gave the credit cards? Then, there would be the possibility of no credit card theft at all, and Allenby could be on the hook for making false statements and fraud for improperly reporting a card stolen.
