The 10 day is terrible, highs in the 30's next Saturday, possible snow Sunday morning.

 

This is straight BS.

 

Supposed to just crack 50 today, burning my last 4 hours vacation carry over from last year, teeing off at 12:24 today.

 

It could be mid to late April before we get going.

@Blackm00nlight - I left wakonda at the end of the season and purchased a sugar Creek pass. My friend and I are in for the Mon night league as well. Can't wait for 3hr 9 hole rounds. Give me a heads up if you head out there. My weekday schedule is pretty strict due to work and kids bs but gonna still try and get out 2x per week.

Headed to KC on the 20th for a weekend getaway. Cousin and I are going to hit up a few courses. Looking at Shoal Creek for sure. Anyone else been south and found a really nice public course?

Aside from Shoal Creek I have played Deer Creek and Prarie Highlands. Its been a couple years but from my memory, Deer Creek was good, well priced but its layout is set up for target golf. Prarie Highlands is a bit pricier and nice, open and links style. I liked both courses and would return to play either.

Snow the other night, 70's Wednesday - Friday, then snow again on Sunday.

 

I am off at 10am Wednesday and Thursday, hope to get in at least 54 holes.

It's far worse for your neighbors to the north - we will have 10-12 inches of new snow here by the end of the weekend. I may jump in the car next weekend and drive south until I find an open golf course. I would just hope that happens to be in Iowa and not Missouri.

Well, I am just south of Des Moines, just had a small thunderstorm and some hail, supposed to get a few inches of snow later today.

 

It was 84 in one part of the state yesterday, and 43 in the other corner. The Spring has been unreal. It was in the 70's middle of the week, but the 10 day does not even look that great. Next Sunday is probably the next chance, and that is a high of 57.

 

I was playing in March last year, will be May this year.

Could be worse. We just got rid of all our snow Friday afternoon here in north central Iowa. Yesterday we got 4” but woke up this morning to another 5”. I may never get to golf this year.

Our league at Otter Creek is supposed to start Thursday... Starting to think they'll just cancel due to no one wanting to show up for 45 and wind combined with cart path only at best.

Played Jester yesterday. 3 holes are setup with temp tee boxes due to hole construction. They should be altered with temp tee boxes for the remainder of the season, I expect. Anyway I had no idea so just a FYI.

Not sure what kind of outings you prefer but my favorite best shot tournaments of the year are the 1 player best shot at Veenker in July and the 2 man Iowa/ISU at Woodland Hills the Friday before the game.

Nice 5 day break! Hitting up Finkbine tomorrow morning. I’ll be the glowing bright spot in my volt and black on the Hawkeye course :). Not sure about Sunday or Monday yet.
