I buy a year's supply at Xmas. Custom numbers custom side label and discount. Usually it the current ball and not the new one from January. This year titleist gave me the new ball.

There are a lot of golf shows going on this time of year. I noticed at one of the local shows here, people were walking out with the 2014 version of ProV1 at $25 a box. The goal of the retailers at these expo's is the clear inventory. So if you show up on an afternoon of the last day, you can usually bargain and get great deals.

I went to a show in Indianapolis a few years ago that was a joke. It's like sellers pulled out the worst stuff from the back of their stores that no one bought for years, so they figured they'd try selling them at the Golf Expo. You could barely find a good box of balls to buy.

But as for the original post ... yeah, love the springtime Titleist 3-for-1 deal.

The right rough around 200 from the tee at your local course. These are the number one choice of the poser, so you get plenty of guys who shouldn't be playing them playing them, and slicing them into the woods. Most hacks slice, and these slice worse for bad swings than cheaper balls, so the rough should have a plentiful supply if you can be blthered to take a look. I find plenty all over the course but usually give them away as they don't play well for me.

That is so true!!!!! The better I get the cheaper and cheaper the ball gets!!!! When I was just starting to play again after graduating college I was shooting in the low 90's I played ProV1's. I shoot mid 70's and I prefer Brisgestone E6 or NXT Tour, etc.... I have a lot of club head speed and steep AOA and spin is something I am not lacking.

With that being said, if I do find a pro v1x I do play it. I hate to admit it but they are my favorite ball but maybe worth maybe one stroke in a round? I buy them when I have gift cards etc...... My buddy gets his used online and most of the time the balls are pretty good. We have never been able to tell a difference between them and brand new ones.
