Anyone tried the g30ls with a Speeder Evolution 757? Currently testing the g30ls with a tour ad mt 6x but the evo is calling my name.

Played my first round with the driver with stock TFC419D stiff shaft with loft dialed down to 9.9 degrees.

As I have experienced at the range, I need to swing a bit harder to get the ball the launch higher.

I think I need a shaft that will kick the ball higher.

Reading various reviews, I think I might need to get the Kiyoshi Purple shaft and have it tipped 1".

I think by doing that I need to get the 12 grams as well.

The distance is definitely further as many have already stated. And the roll seemed to be further as well.
Wouldn't you get the desired higher launch by putting it at 10.5*? I'm assuming you have a 10.5* because you can't get to 9.9 with a 9*

I also found it to be relatively low launching so I cranked mine to 10* and it's a good mid-launch now. I eliminated the big left shot a long time ago so I don't mind lofting up the 9* and creating a little more draw bias rather than buying a 10.5 and lowering it to 9.9. But I have considered playing around with shafts and weights. Although I hit this thing so good the way it's set up I really don't want to mess around with it.

I am struggling mostly with pull or hooked shots so I like my club face to be opened up a bit. And since the Most lofted way for G30 LS is to get 10.5 and lower it, I have no choice. If there is a 12-degree option I will probably buy it. But it looks like a shaft could help me with the height.

Hit this really well. But the sound is so damn loud. I couldn't take it. Cobra Fly Z in the bag
You need to stuff 16 cotton balls in the head thru the weight port. It's kind of tedious to do, but it makes a big difference with the sound.

It's about 2 jumbo cotton balls per gram, so if you stuff 16 in there, that's 8g, and you'll prob need a lighter sole weight to counteract it... or shorten your shaft a little.

I cotton-balled a few g30s and didn't need 16 to fill the head, it took about 4 to deaden the sound and 8 to pack the head.

I will admit the more you put in the better it sounds... I bet 16 makes it sound like some sweet persimmon :-)

Some flavor of the month driver.
Some driving iron for Links courses.

A hybrid to save my bad shots.
Titleist blades when I feel lucky otherwise something more forgiving.
A Vokey wedge or 2.
I hate every one of my 17 putters.

I may be buying one of these in the near future (next week) and while the sound has irritated me, this is an intriguing concept to put cotton balls in the head. Since I am likely going to be asking for the shaft to be shortened to either 44.5" or 44.75", that will avoid me having to buy additional weights.

However, the other poster here that said yarn is better in case you want/need to take it out has a valid point. Would there be a reason to take it out and does it make sense to use yarn instead? I would think that yarn could move around inside the head easier (a negative point), regardless of what kind you use because it is just not as fluffy as cotton. That would be my instinct but I could be totally off my rocker (pun related to yarn fully intended). I am trying to envision if there is some long term negative effects of stuffing cotton in there. I tend to use a club for at least 5 years (ok, currently bucking that trend but 5 years playing is my general tendency on drivers) so not sure if over time, it could compress and move around or not.

Any responses/thoughts on this are welcomed.

So finally has a chance to take the G30 LS Aldila Rogue Silver 70 combo to the course. Awesome!!! compared to the AD DI 7, the Rogue is definitely lower launching.

Also, the Rogue Silver feels a little but more stout compared to the AD DI (even with the AD DI tipped 1/2 in). Dispersion was much tighter with the Rogue Silver.

I've never used yarn , but yea cotton is pretty permanent. I just tear it up and use a toothpick or really small screwdriver. I also put a super thin rubber washer under the aftermarket lighter weight. Helps a ton but I don't think I'd be reversing the process anytime soon :-)

I tried the rubber washer, no yarn. To me the sound is 'tighter'. You still have the plink (or ping) at impact, but there seems to be less reverberation so less of a hollow effect.

Or, it could be that I'm just getting used to the sound.

The topic of adding cotton balls or yarn to help reduce the sound has got me thinking. Since adding one of these to the head will add weight to the head will that weight help me drop the club inside at the top? I'm currently working swinging more from the inside. If not what effect would added weight have?
Caveat: I am no swing expert nor pro......

Logic would have me thinking that if the weight were more than is ideal for your swing, then the clubhead may trail in your swing a bit as if would be harder for you to keep the heavier head in pace with your swing. I could be dead wrong but that is what logic would lead me to think. Again, coming from a non-pro, non-swing-guru type with a single digit handicap though swings like a hacker, kind of guy ;)

Cheers

I just received my 9* LS head and can't decide which shaft to go with. My options are the Tour AD BB 7x or Rogue 125 70x. Which shaft do you guys think would be a better combo?

I, too, am curious about opinions on the Tour AD BB. I am going to a fitter this weekend who does not had the Tour 80 stock shaft but has the Tour AD BB (in addition to the Tour 65 stock shaft).

I have about a 102 ss on the driver but am a rather inconsistent player. (Oh yeah, and I am not a 20-something year old, either - mid 40s, decent shape but just not as powerful as before)

I haven't hit either but I would go Rogue 125 just for the cool factor lol

I actually have the Rogue black and I love it (the not so cool 95 MSI version). I was looking for a little more feel and launch and the shaft delivered was spot on.

I added four cotton balls and its night and day how this thing sounds. The weight went up a total of two grams which has zero affect on swingweight and feels the same.

The combination of four cotton balls and the stock tour shaft and I'm an instant believer. Ten balls in the sim, ten at the range, taking it for a spin tomorrow in an outing.
Doing the same tomorrow. I've got 50+ rounds in with it already
