Love this thread.

 

Picked up an Origin B2-01 and a 006 Prototype. Played the Origin last weekend and didn't leave a single putt short. Will most likely keep the 006 Prototype as my gamer.

 

Unfortunately, the Origin delivered was the Counterflex version.

 

Can anyone provide insight as to the hosel size of B2-01 Counterflex? Looking to get it to a standard length putter.

I bought a counterflex Origin and changed the shaft to a standard. It's a .370 tip.

Thinking about putting a UST Frequency Filtered shaft in each.

 

I don’t have personal experience with the 006 so I can’t say for sure. It’s probably .370. My Method Matter was also a .370 so that seems to be what Nike used.

 

I just put a UST Frequency Filtered shaft in one of my Origin B2-05's. I used the .370 straight version and it fit perfectly.

 

I will say that on the limited putts I've hit thus far on my indoor putting mat, it's hard to tell much difference between the UST shaft and a steel shaft. Perhaps I'll feel a difference when I'm able to get out on the course and hit some longer putts.

I've got a 001 and am thinking about reshafting. From what I understand, the stock shaft was the True Temper YST, and I am thinking of getting a stepped shaft. I'd love to find a YSC but they are definitely not easy to come by. Does anyone know the tip size for the original methods? Also, has anyone seen this or used this site before?

I just bought a 006 (proper oven built) and I can't get a 0.370 to fit! I'm going to try a 0.355 when I get a hold of one.

Has anyone had any trouble with bigfootgolf? I ordered the weight and face kit. It arrived with just the weights and an empty bag which should’ve had the face insert. I let him know and he send another package. Same story. A taped closed baggie with no face insert. I’m very confused as to what’s going on, and upset because I really wanted to add the copper plate to this putted.

When I ordered my insert, it came in a taped small ziploc bag and the insert was hanging out of the bag. And it was sent in a regular white envelope. Sounds like his packing methods may need a reboot. You’d think the insert would still be rattling around in the envelope somewhere unless it fell out of that too.

Well that’s unfortunate. Checked the envelope about five times and nothing. Thanks for the confirmation. I was looking forward to posting it here shortly. Oh well.

Finally got my other Origin back. Pulled the counterflex shaft and had a black shaft installed with a Winn Pro X 1.32 black and blue grip. Only hiccup, is it measures about 36.5” instead of the 35” I requested. Other than that, going to give the heavier head weight of the counterflex version a shot at overtaking the standard B1-01 Origin :).

 

I think the matte black shaft with the black and blue grip fit nicely!

Believe it was stated earlier in the thread that the putter shops can't/won't refinish method putters because of the polymer in the face. Not positive on it myself though.

That is correct I just talked to them they can't do pvd finishes. Any ideas? I have a credit to NCP that needs to be used!

You could add a $20 copper insert from BigFoot Golf on eBay. Take the insert out and then have it refinished - I had mine satin bead blasted (check my witb for pics). Then the copper insert goes on after. Or you could get an insert in a different material from spryevo. Most people won’t attempt any refinish as long as that insert is in there.

Here's my refinished Method Matter I had done by BOS. 2X Fools Gold Finish. I removed the insert and weights myself before sending it to them.

Thanks for the pics! How would I go about removing the insert? I'm thinking I'll go for some sort of Matte Black at this point. I do like the way the insert feels. Can the insert be painted as well?

Hot to boiling hot water should melt the glue pad. Submerge for a minute or so and you should be able to pry it out easy.
