Another lesson in the books...

 

So I have developed a cup wrist at address or have always had it.

 

However, somewhere along the body transition I forgot about firing my hips through and compressing the ball. (Used to be what I was good at..the only part of the swing)

 

So, we got to work on a even more dramatic grip change for me. So probably how most of you guys grip the club but new for me.

 

More into the fingers, palm below the end of the grip, and little forward press to flatten my wrist.

 

Add that to the little open stance, arms firing down towards my kidneys and hips clearing

 

FUN stuff!

 

Interesting stuff. Still working on my aiming which my eyes see one thing but it is another with the club. I see more open than not (left eye dominate if that matters).

 

Took most of the lesson for me to comfortable with the grip but finally start to strip the ball in the middle of the face and not low on the face.

 

Still need to get use to that stuff and stop fading back or lifting up like Mj on a fadeaway.

 

Also, hit the new Epic stuff today. Will bang but going to take my turn deciding on shaft and the right head this time.

True but they are all connected, so just have to trust it or get use to it.

 

I saw some great results the front 9 at OC.. back 9 putting turned to poo and some errant shots.

Actually, as I grow older, a book like Kent's increasingly is perhaps a good idea. I find that when someone asks if I have played a certain course, I find more and more I answer with: yes, but its been a while so I don't remember much about it. See, that "been a while" gets less and less.

GTT Follow-up : Are you at all surprised at your, or other people's results?

 

hard to judge. not sure what i'm looking at, besides a bunch of numbers. my range from best to worst looks pretty awful to my eye, but that's golf at my level.

 

 

interesting-to-me-stuff:

 

- out of 33 handicap season rounds, i had a total of 6 "bad" rounds where i was above a 10 differential. zero of those came after august, post rib injury recovery, and a couple weeks after DC fixed my putting.

 

- had 10 in-season rounds with a differential lower than my current cap of 5.6.

 

- starting at the #redragchallenge until the end of year, i shot 80 or below in 14/18 rounds.

 

- i feel like i'm improving, and the numbers seem to bear that out, so that's good.

Did not answer this because it is a stupid question LOL

low was 72 X 3

High was 16.7 but was not a blowup round. wind was 35 to 40 raining and cold JUST as good as I could play but not an indication of talent but survival
