In the middle of talking to her, I wasn't paying attention and smoked a low hanging ornament from the tree (she demands they remain up until mid January at least) with the backswing.

My instructor teaches Chris Stroud and texted me to turn it on. No idea how they arent pulling the guys off the course, its kind of a joke isnt it? No way the PGA guys would put up with this.

Ordinarily I might agree. But they said its gusting 40+ and some player just had the club blown into the ball as he was trying to address it and a huge gust came up. LOL I'm not sure I've ever even heard of that happening.

Me and City were hitting into a 30 mph wind on 10 at Hobbits with a 40 degree wind chill. Easy. Those web.com tour players can man up and play some golf. It is crazy weather, but I gotta say it's pretty awesome they're playing. That's golf.

There was about 25 minutes of interesting football this weekend. The first half of the giants-packers game. . . and even that wasn't that great.

 

Next weekend could be a good slate, except the Pats game might be a total blowout.

Hats. I got a couple of nice bucket hats for golfing in 2016. The rest of my 2016 game was meh

I don't really know. Probably driver off the deck.

 

I think I've gotten better inside 100 yards. Despite all my b1tching about it, I think i've gotten better at driving.

 

But, I'm not "happy" with any part of my game ever.

 

On 15 at Hobbits the other day, I pushed my drive right. Ball was sitting down on "hard mud" in the rough. I did this. . .

 

 

 

I had one of those on hole 7 one day this year from the right trees. . .kept it under a limb, fired it out left of the fairway bunker and got it to curl back into the fairway.

GTM: happy I played as much as I did. Heck, I played 70 rounds. Probably 50 of those with my boyfriend.

GTM : I was happy with the way I played the game in 2016. Made a lot more good choices on the course. Skill-wise, I was happy with my driving. Surprise.

I dunno. Not particularly happy about any part of my game. If I had to pick one thing, maybe putting.

GTM: Happy that @ 10 months ago I set out wanting to hit a fade and am really happy with having had accomplished that. Has helped significantly off the tee in that I feel like I can hit driver as hard as I want and am not worried about it getting away from me. More importantly its given me a lot more distance control with the irons. Really excited for this coming season.

 

GTM-Eagle: I am happy that I got into a groove of having more focussed practice sessions this year. Will rarely now just go out and hit balls for two hours. Was happy I stuck to an idea of mixing warm ups with short game time with putting with a few holes of golf. I think thats going to help out significantly going forward.

GTM early 2016: playing (relatively) pain free. of course i got hurt again midway through the season. but back to feeling good again! we'll see how long this lasts. hopefully all year.

 

GTM mid 2016: driving. felt good with the big stick for a few rounds there.

 

GTM late 2016: scoring/irons. really had a ton (for me) of good looks at birdie, and made a few.

 

 

GTM for threadenizens -what other people should be happy about from what i saw-

 

dc - mental state. vast, vast improvement from when we first played together. vast.

city - mid iron impact. boss status as far as im concerned.

fabb - putting. huge improvement from the capitol cup debacle to the virtuoso performance i saw at caves.

domes - driving. f6+ and new shaft were awesome for you. pq long.

sully - swing speed. you were putting a really good move on the ball there for a while. much more athletic. kinda lost it later in the year.

t.i.t - hairstyle. really liked the longer look. grow it into a manbun please. also: chipping, when you applied monte 'bounce' method.

mtn - memegame was on point. also: driving. old school move looked great. accurate, and long.

siegel - putting. you did very well in our match play semifinals. best i've seen you putt.

jj - laser adjustments. meters vs yards makes a difference. also: driving.

dt - midrange putting. you just bang em in. confidence.

tex - iron accuracy (unless a tree is in the way). stellar play at needwood down the stretch to win that match.

thdc - mental state. easy to see why you can crush opponents in match play. nothing bothers you, impossible to rattle. very strong, like calf strong.

boogs - i saw huge improvements in ball striking and chipping/pitching late in the year. yuge. 2017 gonna be good for you.

puppet - club selection. wouldn't have an m2 without you. ;)

pq - softest hands around the hole i've experienced.

c.free - saw so much less *thinking* which is a positive for him.

GTM: No particular part of my game thrilled me in 2016. If anything, probably my short game, only on that I was pretty good at not effing up those shots most of the time. My putting was decent/passable for most of the year, but for the first Laurel Hill round.

GTM: Happy I started swinging like an athlete. Golf became a different game afterwards. Couldn't have done it without lessons.

 

Still working remotely. Starting to put weight on the knee, haven't worn the stabilizer in a couple of days. Done using crutches. Done with the Dilaudid. Just need to start PT and start getting better.

 

Saw Ccmvp yesterday for the steelers game. Talked about how boring that golf tournament in Hawaii was. The wrong guys were playing well. Bubba and dj in the final group maybe I'm a little more intrigued.
