Totally agree with you. When I saw the pic of the whole set I was drooling. And then I saw the picture of the 7 iron back with the blue and I am unsure now. Was thinking about buying i25s but when I hear about ie-1 I was hesitant. Once they actually introduce the new irons will the still sell the remaining i25s or ping won't ship them at all once they announce the new one?

Finally got to see them and although they aren't classic Ping, I'm a fan. Look better without the blue and if it isn't plastic I see a lot of people getting rid of it.

AP2s will most likely be out of the bag when these are released.

Ping was on a roll with the S55 and i20 & i25. Wish they had kept it going.

Couldn't quite tell from the very few seconds I saw it, but it looked smaller than the i25 significantly. A little bigger than i10? Heck are i10s as big as the S55?

If these are legit pics ... I don't think the ie's look that bad. They are subtle, yet have a classic look to them. At the same time, I find myself preferring the G30's. I'm sure the blues are the same, but the ie's look pastel and I'm not a fan of that.

I'm thinking it follows the same blue of the G30 and will be a little darker. If so, I like 'em. I'm just interested to see what golfer they are aimed at.

That being said, I'm sure Ping knows what they are doing, and they must need to play into the mass/mainstream marketing to keep up with sales? You gotta do what you gotta do.

Is this the first iron released since Ping lost some of their design team to PXG?

If so, maybe those defections hurt more than a little.

Funny, I remember the same type of negitivitey towards the I25's when they were released. One thing I can see, which is really important to me is that it seems like the short irons may flight a bit lower. Thats what I'm hoping. Otherwise I'll just get the 4, 5, and 6 then call it a day.

I really could give a good doody about what the backs of the club look like. I don't see that when addressing the ball. I just care about how they perfom and feel, turf unteraction, those things.
