cobra bio cell+ set to 10.5*D w/ stiff diamana 'ahina 70 x5ct cut down to 44". i like the deep 440cc head and the combo of low spin head + 'ahina + more loft = perfect trajectory that is a great balance of carry and roll.

Currently have in the lineup:

TM r510 tp with kiyoshi white
TM SLDR 460 with Kiyoshi purple (x-stiff)
Ping Anser with Ahina
Nike Covert 2.0 Tour with Bimatrix

Probably going to end up keeping the the 510 tp and either the anser or the sldr. Love the feel and sound of the 510, plus the kiyoshi white is one of my favorite shafts. The sldr was an impulse purchase...accidentally won on ebay and wasnt expecting to with the bid I put up. Love the Ping Anser as its a low spin head and I like the feel of the Ahina. The Covert is nice, but honestly, just doesnt wow me. Going to put it up for sale soon.

I have the Nike Vapor Flex. Reason is it was going a little farther than my Covert Tour and I couldn't get past how great it sounds. The sound is pretty much the reason, I think I could get better performance from the 915 D2, but it sounds terrible compared to the Nike.

Earlier this year I went through a driver fitting (indoors using my game ball with Trackman) and was fitted into the Cobra Fly-Z+ driver.  The fitting was about 90min long and I tried the following drivers in a variety of shafts:

- Callaway Alpha 815
- Callaway DBD
- Callaway XR
- Cobra Fly-Z+
- Nike Vapor Speed
- Nike Vapor Pro
- Nike Vapor Flex
- Ping G30 LSTech
- Taylormade R15
- Titleist 915 D2
- Mizuno JPX 850

The Callaway DBD and Nike Vapor Flex sounded the best. The Titleist and Vapor Flex were the most accurate and the Ping had the longest drive. The Fly-Z+ (for me) was second in overall distance and accuracy categories. The biggest surprise was ball speed numbers on mishits- the Fly-Z+ recorded higher ball speed numbers than the other drivers on mishits by an average of 7mph in the same spots and maintained a pretty reasonable level of distance and accuracy (given my swing).

For me, the Cobra Fly-Z+ gave me the best overall numbers all the way around (longest, tightest and most consistent grouping) via the Trackman report. Considering my goal was to play the best driver for my game, I ended purchasing a black Cobra Fly-Z+, with a 45in X-Stiff Matrix VLCT-ST, 9* loft, and weight forward, with a black Pure DTX grip (2 wraps under the left and 3 wraps under the right).

On the course, the Trackman report was validated. This driver has really been a game changer for me. I have never been so confident from the tee. Honestly, I have hit some of my longest drives with this club AND I am in the fairway more than I have ever been. Every now and then I still hit some bad shots but I know that is me and not the driver. I have worked a lot on my game and swing and this driver has helped me find the fairway more often. I am very glad I went through a fitting and found this club.

I was gaming a Titleist 9.5* 909 D2 driver, but recently took it out of my bag in favor of a 13* 909 F3 fairway wood. For whatever reason, I have an easier time squaring up the smaller club face, resulting in significantly less drastic misses, while really not losing much in distance when I'm really getting after it. I already had an 18.5* F2 and 15.5* F2 from the 909 series so it just made sense for me aesthetically to add another 909 F if I intended on buying a stronger 3-wood.

Edit:

Had to add how much fun it is when you poke it past your buddies with less club.

Went back to ol reliable, the 910 D2, Kuro Kage silver. Been playing it the last three rounds and no other driver I have played is as easy to hit in the fairway. It's not the longest but I will happily give up those few extra yards to be in the fairway. Every time it goes back in the bag, I find myself asking why I ever took it out.

Wilson Staff D100. I was fitted into it, as it was the straightest of all drivers I tried. Was technically fitted with a D200, but didn't need the adjustability. I am very happy with it, as I shoot straighter, and much farther. Tried all the new drivers this year and none worked as well except the fly z, but it was a 2 yard average gain, with same spin and launch.

The shaft is a Matrix Ozik Stiff at standard length.

SLDR 460 with Grafalloy Shaft. Started with a 430 and liked it a lot. Decided to try a 460 for a little more forgiveness. And I love it. Very long, low spin, and lots of confidence with it due to accuracy.

Cobra Fly Z+

Bumped out my old reliable R11s, but that is what happens when it is longer and more forgiving. Might tinker with some different shafts but I am liking the stock x-stiff. I will say it took a while to get used it but once I got it dialed in, I've hit some monster drives.

Titleist 913 D2 ... Have a couple different shafts I have been playing around with for fun

Reason... I have always played Titleist drivers as they look traditional to my eye and I feel I have the best control over them... It's all about dispersion for me

Played around with others every now and again but always come back to a Titleist

I envy you angle of attack, MBA-J. I need my SLDR 12* tuned up a degree.

No midget or worm would be safe if I were to swing a 7.5* SLDR.

I actually found that setting by accident! Apparently, I wasn't paying attention to the setting when I was switching shafts between one of my 10.5* heads and my 9* head. I started striping the ball, and when I took note of the setting, I found that it was in the LOWEST setting. 7KEc7Lb.png

No humble brag here - just thrilled that I found a seemingly perfect set up! God knows I've been searching for years... ZF3PJCv.png

I previously played an Adams 9015D, first with the standard matrix shaft then with a Matrix 5.1 HD. Every yr I tried to replace it but never found a whole lot better ... this yr I made two trips to the pga ss and to golfsmith ... after trying every driver in stock the Callaway XR pro kept coming out on top with a little better distance and improved performance on mishits.

I finally purchased the XR pro in 9* loft, set at 10* neutral, with the standard PX 6.0 shaft. a couple of weeks later added 3 " of lead tape to the sole and it's performance improved ...

I may try a PX 5.5 when temps below 60*

It's the only driver I am comfortable with. Now I just have to get the crown refinished in white, to erase the idiot marks I put on it the day I got it.
