Your Current Driver and Why?

Been all over the place lately basically trying to "fit" myself. Got tired of guessing and went to a proper fitting and was fit for an M2 w/ Kuro Kage Silver. Had the order placed yesterday and apparently the KK shaft is backordered, so the wait has begun. Supposed to ship Sept. 1. :read:

Make sure you check to see if the shaft you were using during your fitting was tipped or not. If you were hitting an untipped shaft at your fitting and they order directly from TM, it will likely be tipped an inch which will play completely different. Just my two cents from experience.

I'll keep this short and to the point.

Switched from BStone J40 430 to Cobra LTD Pro for the forgiveness on mishits.

The feel is just as good if not better and I've found my toe and heel misses go just as far as those hit dead center.

I know that sounds ridiculous but I myself was surprised. I'm not a huge hitter but when a toe hook and a heel push both fly 285 and end up within 5 yards of a dead center hit-I'm happy.

First Cobra club I've ever owned and I must admit I'm sold. I may have had 5-10 yards more on my other driver but the misses were worse.

Very happy I switched. 116 mph swing speed.

I'm not a huge hitter but I fly it 285 on mis-hits. Only on wrx lol.

I also love the LTD btw.

Talked to someone at TM yesterday and they insisted that they only tip according to the shaft manufacturers specifications and then the specs of the customer. The shaft I was fit with was tipped 1/2" according to the fitter. If the shaft was from Taylormade to the fitter, wouldn't it be the same to me?

There are a lot of misinformed people working for TaylorMade. I asked the same question to an employee online after reading about the tipping and was told they tip trim drivers an inch.

It depends on the fitter. Some of the higher end guys get multiples of each shaft trimmed differently. If I were you, I would call TaylorMade and just confirm you only want it tipped a half inch.

For me, the KK silver tipped an inch was really low launching. I just knesomething wasn't right then I read another threwad that opened my eyes to the tipping.

Same here. I slept on Cobra for a long time thinking they were gimmicky.... now I am finding that they make quality woods that really perform. I have a Fly Z+ head, too, but it's just not as good as the regular Z head for me.

I'm still using my 910D3, but recently picked up the Nike VSP D+. I've hit the new driver a few times and I definitely like the sound/feel of the club. Time will tell if this will beat out my trusty 910D3.

Another round with the RBZ Tour on Wednesday, and I don't ever see it coming out of the bag. LONG, STRAIGHT and predictable. I've tried the G30, GBB and Nike VF Pro on the course for a few rounds, and none of them can match my RBZ Tour. I may give the Sub Zero a chance next, but I'm still totally in love with my old TM. I've tried the new TM's and I just don't like them at all. The aesthetics are terrible to my eye and I don't like the feel either. I've been gaming a TM driver since the '07 Burner 460 came out, and they've lost me with their recent models...

Titleist 915d4, with GD AD-MT. Why? Straightest driver I've hit in a long time, I can go after it without fear of hooking, and it's plenty long enough!

I've had the 910D2 in my bag for a few years and haven't found anything I like better until yesterday..my brother demoed the 915D2 and the thing was definitely longer and just more solid than my 910.

I think I'll wait for the 917 to start selling and try to pick up a 915 at a decent price point.
