Your Current Driver and Why?

M2 9.5* turned to 10.25* with a stiff Kuro Kage black. It looks so sexy and is brings a lot of confidence at address. I hit it straight with a very piercing flight and because of the low spin it just goes. I can play a draw if I really need to but if I want to move it I go with a fade. I am currently waiting on a new adapter so I can try out a Speeder Evo 661 that I have, which should give me a little better dispersion.

I'd be very keen to hear your thoughts on that combo.

Il let ya know. I think it's going to be a straight bomber.

My wife just got her Tour Edge club back from them from being repaired. They installed a Hot Launch 10.5* draw head on her old shaft. I hit it with the shrink wrap still on it 3x yesterday in the back yard. WOW! Good sound, LONG, and STRAIGHT. I think I may sneak it into a couple rounds this season myself. Shhhhhhhhhh

Although some may see it as a backward step just went from

Cobra F6+ to the standard cobra fly-z

Reason was just could not get used too the sound and feel with the F6+ tried it in various shafts but nothing changed , results were good without being great .

Switched to the fly-z because so many people on here rated it and

BOOM !!!! Played only 1 round with it so far and it's long straight and has great feel and sound . Playing with the standard matrix shaft but my experiment with some other shafts .

Ping G25 10.5 TFC-189 R-flex. Why? It had a good reputation for being forgiving, and I found a stupid deal on it on eBay. Nearly unplayed condition, w/ HC & tool, $119.95 shipped. Only problem is I demo'd a Titleist 915 the week before and I couldn't hit a bad drive with it. Then I got the ping, and found I didn't like it as much as the 915. The other thing I can't quite get used to his teeing up to almost the outside of my front foot. Anything more inside and the club pushes right to between 1:00 & 2:00.

So I'm waiting until the 917's come out and then I'll pick up a used 915 when the prices start dropping under $200.00

910 D3...for me nothing else is straighter. Might not be the longest but more often than not it is on the short stuff. Added bonuses...it feels and sounds great.

Played 9 with it this afternoon. WOW! I have lost some distance with my 983K lately and this club brought it back and then some. I had one 320yd (no joke) 2 300ish, and one 290. It is unreal. My brother in law's jaw was on the ground. He asked me if I got some HGH or something. Now I am kind of mad I just ordered that Cobra Amp Cell from Callaway. I might have been better off driving down to Dunham's for another one of these clubs...Hmmmm

915 with Rougue 65 shaft. Seem to be in the groove this past month with it. I did pick up a used M2 and after doing a demo in Canada with a similar one, am looking forward to seeing how it will compare to my current gammer .

Titliest for many years.. switched to a used TM R11 (longer).. pretty good club. thought I'd upgrade to an M1 after a nice demo day so spent the money and turned out to be a dud... Sold it on Ebay and picked up a Ping G30 for half the price. Loving it so far. very very straight with std 419 shaft (go figure) and consistently 5-15 yds longer with the occasional bomb. im good for now but ya never know..

Taylormade M1 7.5 degree Tour Issue

Mitsubishi Tensei Pro White Prototype 80TX

Tipped 1 inch

44.5 inches, D3

I play this combo for low spin and control. The slightly shorter shaft allows me to square the club up at impact easier, and the weight allows me to stay in tempo for consistency. Spin has always been an enemy of mine, and this combo is the first one that put me in the 1900-2000 rpm range. My ball speeds, when swinging well are mid 180's, and I do give up a couple mph with the shorter and heavier driver. That said, the ball tends to roll further down a fairway than in the trees.

Cobra King LTD with Fujikura Speeder 565 stiff. It took a lot to make me replace my G25, but this really is a step above.

I wasn't convinced, as I was moving the loft between 10.5-11.5-10.5d-11.5d but couldn't get it where I wanted. Then a couple of weeks ago, I set it to 9.5, and everything fell right into place.

9.5* 905T on a YS-7+ reg flex shaft. I just get along with it and scared to spend money and not get an improvement.

:clapping:

I played 905-S for years. It was point and shot, wish I never sold it. Had a .335 Grafalloy Blue TS fully inserted at 44.5. Also had "T" as well as "R " in the series; great heads!

I recently went back to my trusty old RBZ Tour after about a year and a half of timkering with the BB Alpha, G30 LST and GBB. The RBZ Tour is both long and straight...and just works for me. It instills confidence as a result. Also, I know exactly what I'm doing wrong when I mis-hit a drive with it, and it's easy to correct on the next hole.

M2 for me. Like the look, love the feel. Just can't play a tingy sounding driver. Plus, this one gives me just enough spin.

That sounds like such a solid setup!! I'd love to try that combo out but it'd be a expensive experiment if it didn't work....

It really has been a revelation. I've always struggled with getting my spin down enough and this combo is perfect. I tried a couple M1 set ups early on and just couldn't find the right one. When I was able to get ahold of the 7.5 head, 7.1 true loft, finally the spin rates were decent and launch angle still was about 14 degrees. I messed with Kuro kage, hzrdus, on and on and on, until I was able to get a few Tensei White Prototypes in a variety of weights to try. Once I hit the 80 in the M1 head is was true love. Haha. Spin rates down around 2000 rpm, no left miss, and the ability to absolutely stand on the accelerator whenever the need arises. For high swing speed, high spin players, I would highly recommend the Tensei Pro White combined with an M1 or M2 head.
