Ebay seller ksouth9

I got a set of P770s new in plastic for over 1/2 price off what the big boxes were asking during "liquidation" about 3 years ago.  Received them in less than a week.  Had them inspected by a TM Rep I trust, and verified 100% legit.  What aggravation, what delay?

He is probably guilty of relisting items too soon when they aren't getting bids, but I've bought about 5 things from drivers to iron sets at smoking prices, and he never did the "bait and switch", or sent the wrong item forcing a return.  I think since we are 8 pages into this topic and there are more good reviews than bad, it's time we stop "protecting the community" and realize a lot of us have gotten great deals on recently discontinued gear that he has had the opportunity to liquidate.  If you don't trust it/him, don't buy.  But don't burry the guy because you believe its "too good to be true".

Who doesn't love reviving an old thread...  I don't have anything bad to really say about k9south, as I have bought a few things and always got what I bought and shipped quickly.

However, I will say that there is some interesting bidding dynamics on their products.  For example, I have been following some of the older version Zipcore wedges, and they always tend to get bid up to the same amount for a while.  In this case, I think they are effectively putting in an artificial reserve price though some related bidding or something.

I can't imagine that this is coincidence.  And I have seen the magic $72 number many times on this same item type over the past few weeks where they have been clearing them out.

They almost always sell for $100+, so not sure why the need for this... but just thought it was curious.

One thing I've noticed a few years back (not from Ksouth9) was one or two sellers using dummy accounts to run up the bid price.  They basically help push up the price in hopes of raising the sell price without actually winning it.  Then if they randomly do win, it's cancelled and relisted.

Super shady thing that Ebay didn't really patrol (at least at that time) since they make more money the higher it sells for.

They got me for a set of wedges just last week and yes there's always some shady bidding.  If you look at the bidders info, they only bid on KSouth's items.  I just set an amount in my mind that I was willing to pay and locked it in.  Got 2 of the ZipCore wedges for $104 which I thought was pretty fair in the end.  But I followed and bid on about 6 different sets before finally winning one.  They all seemed to go between $100 and $135ish.  They cleared out a bunch of them though.

Yeah, I have been following them for a few weeks and made some bids.  Finally just today I won a set that I wanted (54/60 mid Zipcores) for $92.  So I am not complaining too much, it just seems unnecessary for them to prop up the bids.  But maybe it builds more sense of competition and gets people to bid more.

Whatever the case, $60 each for new RTX4 Zipcore wedges is a great deal.  I currently am playing 56 + 60 mids and mainly bought these as backups for when those wear out.

I've pondered why they do this, because I am pretty certain that they do, but after thinking about it and exploring ebay's fee structures I am almost certain it is because of the way ebay charges for reserve fee auctions, which is 7.5% of the reserve price whether or not the item sells. That's kind of ridiculous really so I am not sure ebay themselves are not the reason for this kind of shill bidding.
