No, it can not. The only way a 100mph swing gets you 300 yards is if the fairway is made of quartz. With a perfect 1.5 smash, a 100mph swing gets you 150mph ball speed. You can try any combination of launch and spin you want (including the mythical 17 /1700 TM was promoting a while back) and you will never get to 300yards. Realistically you are looking at max 260 carry.

Agreed, the Rogue Silver is definitely the stiffer feeling shaft. Tip stiff and just overall stiffness in the feeling of the shaft flex itself. It's a pretty awesome shaft, and it was certainly the easy choice after swinging the other "stock" options and seeing that I needed to lower ball flight. Surprisingly shocked at how good the 70+ grams felt compared to my usual 60+ gram shaft.

My Rogue 125 MSI 70x actually weighs 66g.....
The Rogue Silver that comes in the M1 is the 110 MSI 70 and according to the Aldila site it weighs in at 77g in Stiff. You must have the Tour Silver (since it's 125 MSI) and according to their site, even it weighs 73g in X flex. Not saying the site isn't wrong though, as it wouldn't be the first time a manufacturers site was wonky with their measurements.

Is there any difference in left hand and right handed adapters in the m1? Or can u swap shafts in either head w/I issues?
The "left handed" will fit in right hand heads but all the adjustments will be backwards. And quite possibly not possible to use.

I think straight in Standard Loft will be okay. After that, I think they would be way off.

Flip to settings....std loft for lefty shaft would be "upright" setting in righty head......lower flips to higher......so on and so on
I know this is off topic, but there is nothing more frustrating buying a TM driver on ebay in my case, it always has a RH adapter. and of course the buyer never agrees to refund it.

Also it has never been proven that it's just the opposite.

What's Jason Day's launch angle? I know Bubba is like 17-18* ......
I saw a video a while back where Day's launch angle was 12.5*. I think it was with a SLDR driver. Couldn't find the vid.

In this video, Bubba's launch was 15* with his G30.

I warmed up at the range before going to Golfmart and had routinely been pounding the ball 325 but could not do it off the mats and little clearance.
Routinely pounding the ball 325? The top 3 PGA tour pros driving distances are DJ, Bubba, and Day, at 317, 315, and 312 on hard baked fairways.
Yep... Believe it or not. Swing speed gets into the mid 120's at times with regular driver length trying to bomb it. Usually I max out in play competitve rounds around 112. My short game and control could be allot better. I am currently just getting back to the game after taking 4 years off, I had a max club head speed of 137. I just won our local long drive at Little River Golf Course here in Northern California. I have gotten a couple out over 400 this year with a couple good bounces in the fairway.

You can google the Fort Bragg Advocate, there is a brief mention in there on it a couple weeks ago, won a couple team events also. Its all timing and getting a good turn on the ball with a positive angle of attack. My name is Jeremy James.

My golfing buddy Brad Theisen is the club champ and I caddie for him whenever he needs me, like the last US Open qualifier. He is a member on the forums here and a heck of a golfer and usually longer off the tee than me.

If Bubba, or JB, wanted to they could smash it with "carry" 330 every time. Its about control for those guys.

Windsor golf course practice range uses real balls and I am on my third replacement driver from Taylormade. The faces crack across the top and they just send me a new one... :)

My wife is irreplaceable and pretty hot.

I will wait another couple months before I jump on the M1. I hate having to deal with sending equipment back. I saw too many of them with bulging crowns at Golfmart.

And yes a 100mph swing speed can get 300 with proper spin, angle of attack and some very firm fairways.

What in the world does your wife have to do with an M1 Thread.

Like to brag a bit?
No bragging..... some goof ball a little while back lumped that into a response at my post.

I have seen 65 year old guys in my group with a swing speed of 95 at their best get 290 total. This is total yardage and should not be confused with carry.

Back on track with the M1 delamination issue..... or lumpy head :tomato:

The hype around this driver is getting crazy. Our assistant was fitted for 915D at Titleist. Nails it. Ordered a Burner TP as he got better numbers. Now selling it without the wrapper off as he believes new M1 will give him 30-40 yards more. I am looking forward to 270 carrys with my dodgy back and 93-97mph clubhead speed :taunt:. I shall of course wait a few months 'til the M2 or whatever it is TM will launch in Spring.

Using that calculator, a ball speed of 168. launch of 13* and spin rate of 2200 barely gets over 300. To do that you would need a swing speed of at least 111 with a smash factor of 1.5.

I was really looking forward to seeing and hitting the m1. Haven't swung a club in a month so I won't pass judgment yet, but a lot of high right shots with the 10.5 pro 60 stiff. Only 2 or 3 decent hits out of about 10 balls. Had to get to work.

I will probably go back and try the 9.5 upright and weights in the heel and back. The range didn't have any M1s for sale. Said they were some issues.

I just remembered I had this pic of Jason Day's LM numbers with his M1 driver.

177.9 ball speed, 13.6 launch angle, 1773 spin, 333.3 carry and 360.4 total yards...not bad. lol

cl9cXVN.png

For the hell of it, I put those ball speed, launch, spin numbers into the Traj Optimizer. Both carry and total yards are less, but we don't know what conditions

Day was hitting in which most likely accounts for the difference in the numbers. (Altitude, Temp, Humidity, wind direction/velocity, ground firmness) As I said

before, I just use that Optimizer for rough estimates, although the numbers are not that far off.

Played in a M/G last week and they had an M1 demo day. I was fit for an 8.5 Aldila Tour Green 65X and the fitter says they'll have your specs if you want to order tonight (at wholesale price). I decided I would just use my allowance at the Taylormade Adidas pro shop on shorts shirts socks, etc. Today an email pops up that my M1 has arrived and is ready for me to pick up. They have offered to send it back but now I have a decision to make.

Thanks for sharing these. I know that a lot has been said about driving distance on the PGA Tour. Some of these guys have a gear we don't see on every driver hole. They don't play on a driving range and as much as courses have gotten longer, it is factional so. 30, 40 or so per hole.

What is more telling is the scoring records that were broken this past year. These guys are good and best ever to get around a course. IMHO.

Normal TM site stuff.....reference any shaft info from the actual OEM's site is always best. On a side note, I have played a WT 5 and a BT 6.....BT 6 is a very good shaft even for a 98 mph swing speed. I was once afraid of these shaft based on the specs and got one based on golfshaftsreviewstv Trackman numbers.

And yes a 100mph swing speed can get 300 with proper spin, angle of attack and some very firm fairways.

Realistically you are looking at max 260 carry.

lol...here ya go...

Thank you for posting this for all of the "experts". Like I said, for what I said happened to happen, it was more dependent on a shot I hit that produced REALLY LOW spin with this club, while maintaining a realistic and achievable launch angle. I use this same trajectory optimizer (found it in a thread right here on GWRX matter of fact) to estimate changes to my driver adjustments also, and it's pretty darn accurate. And yes, of course the fairways are set to "hard" on launch monitors in Golfsmith and most other places here as that's what most of the courses are in TX. Here's an even more realistic picture of a 300 yd drive with 1300 rpm spin (which is what I said that shot dropped to when the launch monitor spit out the 300 yd drive), with the guessed ball speed of 150mph as mentioned in the quote. All I was saying is that the club showed some crazy weird stuff that I didn't believe myself, that's all. I was never trying to brag that I was big hitter and open myself up for scrutiny.

BTW, I'm not sure SS and ball speed have direct conversions (or direct correlations). Meaning, just because your SS is 100mph, doesn't mean that your ball speed will always be 150mph. I'm sure that it can be higher or lower based on club, AOA, etc., right?
