I saw a couple m1 drivers today that didn't look so hot, the paint was fraying on the top near the back edge. Along where the carbon crown meets the metal.

Not sure if I have fallen in love with this driver yet.
[/quote]

Well I for one have truly fallen! I'm nowhere near the golfer I once was ......SwooshLT 2.0 let's call it.....speed down to 90-ish from 110 due to injuries and medical issues.

Also being Lefty, I've hit almost everything available .....and without a blink the M1 has had a level of confidence and consistency that I haven't had ......EVER as 2.0 golfer.....same SLDR distance but far more forgiving; very consistent launch but low spin .....wonderful feel ala Cleveland Comp or razr fit and a 3 metal to boot that MIGHT be better......#awesomeness

Both the R15 and M1 have the +/- 2 degree tip, so the amount of change to loft/lie per setting is the same on M1 and R15. It's just that actual measured lie angles on M1 will be different at each adjustment setting because the M1 is flatter to begin with.

Also, as mentioned before, the bottom bore to ground measurement is different on the M1, so a shaft from R15 or earlier club will play about an 1/8" to 1/4" shorter in the M1.

I've never messed around with it, but has anyone found the "lie angle" to have a huge affect on their swing or ball flight? I have the 10.5* head and as far as the chart shows, if I loft up the head to 11.25* I could have a lie angle of 59.25* or 56.5* depending upon the setting... Is that difference noticeable?

I didn't notice any difference between 8.5 setup and 6.5 setup which is supposed to 2* in difference in lie. I think i maybe more flexible with lie angle on woods and drivers

I've gleamed alot of info from this thread so I figured I'd add some concrete data.

I've been going back and forth on 460 and 430 heads. I know it differs from person to person and that TM has said the heads should be same launch and pretty similar spin, but I'm seeing a difference.

I have three rounds with the 430 and have had several with the 460 and found the 430 to work for me. I don't think it's as punishing for those who miss vertically on the face. My miss is typically a high toe push so a lower spinning miss means better shots.

Hit three balls each no deletions same shaft. One ball teed up just to see high face miss high two teed normally.

Same shaft: project x LZ handcrafted 6.0, same lofts and weight settings on both heads. 9.5 loft.

I tried to put the same swing on each shot and the azimuth and path indicate pretty consistent strikes.

There was also a BS difference between the two but I won't bother with that. I take all indoor simulator monitor numbers with a grain of salt, but this is to show the difference between the two heads.

For me the two heads dispersion wise were a wash, but the 430 fits my swing (numbers wise on a monitor) and misses better (on the course).

YMMV of course...

Has anyone tried moving the front sliding weight to the back track and set both weights all the way back?? That would be an interesting experiment.

Yes.

OspreyCI, thanks! To be honest the numbers with my r15 were about the same with the m1 460, except for the r15 launching a little low. Ive pretty much squeezed everybit out of the m1 now in terms of launch and spin. Im psyched and relieved now that I have found my setup for next season.

Very nice. You're one heck of a consistent ball striker.

Like i said in my post after the fitting session, i was fortunate enough to start the fitting session not fully warmed up and had a chance to not properly strike the 430 head saw the huge drop in the distance. It was scary whereas 460 was pretty close to well struck shots.

However, 430 looked miles better than the 460 head. As for spin difference, it was pretty small within few hundreds of each other in terms of spin numbers

Quite bit of chatter about the forgiveness of the 430 when compared to the 460 and above is an example of one from each side.

It's quite simple, certain types of strike patterns across the face will cause some to feel that the 430 head is less forgiving, while another strike pattern will cause no issues with forgiveness for others.

It just depends on where the location of your misses are and how a club reacts to them based on their design.

I hit all the other drivers. Picked up 7 yards of carry with the M1. It's a beast. Honestly the best driver I have owned. The second best is the R1. Still have it because it's all black.
