Best JDM Driver HEAD???

Well, I just shot my best round (-2) yesterday and it was the first time I bagged the Ryoma maxima...(Also first time I played a round with my prgr id bl irons).

Into me the strength of this driver is that it seems to be pretty consistent and accurate. I found I could manipulate flight easy based on tee height, and although I wasn't blown away with distance, It was effortlessly what I expect and super, super straight. I have a quadra fire express in it fwiw.

Thanks, I am a hardcore blades guy, but the IDBLs are a nice compliment to my blades. I am quite happy, although the -2 has them in my favor pretty good currently...

Anyway, was at range today. Had EASILY the best driving range session ever in my life. Some sneaky bombs, but holy consistent accuracy batman! I am hoping that my timing is not just currently good and this is just a honeymoon and that I backed into a head and shaft combo that just works for me. For anyone on the fence about a maxima, do it. For the cost of new drivers at your local store, you can almost get a used maxima....I am LOVING this driver.

I've tried many Japanese drivers, the best to me is S yard xv. Deep face and low spin.

I've just received one of these heads in the mail this morning. Looking forward to trying it. Using a Romaro Ray 435 LX at the moment and enjoying that. Also have a maruman conductor LX deep on the bench that needs a run.

Got in one range session with the Yamaha. Wow. Has the GD shaft that's JDM only, supposed to bit lower kick point. The ball jumps off the club very nicely. Couldn't get a good feel for distance because hitting bays were way up, but it seemed long enough. Misfits didn't do too badly, and the club did not want to go left, which is my usual miss.

Overall, I think this could be a good one. I'll know more after getting it out on the course.

I have a excellent++ cond ZY-11 head w/ headcover that is sitting idle right now. 10.5*, square FA. Very long, very low spin, surprisingly very forgiving/straight, muted sound-foamed head. The ZY-11 gave the most runout after the ball lands of any driver I have tried. PM me if interested.

ZY-11, hands down. A JB 435 would be another one to try.

ZY-11, hands down. A JB 435 would be another one to try.

I heard alot of good things about the 435 and there is quite a bit of buzz around the zy11. Now I just need to find a head that won't break the bank.

I played the ZY11 and then moved on to the latest and greatest which included the 2016 M2 and 2017 M Series and the Epic and Epic SZ and the Cobra LTD and F7+......All of them are incredible drivers but i am now back to the ZY 11 !!!!!! I will stray again once the Ping G400 is available. Another great JDM Driver is the Epon 105

never gotten along with jdm drivers. but if i had to pick one, its definitely the original 435. that things a cannon.. just dont miss the sweetspot

New to the boutique JDM. Though mainstream and not boutique I really liked the Yonex eZones- 380 and the TX. They never kicked the i15 out of the bag (I always have one in my second cart bag), but damn good drivers.

 

My first boutique was the JBeam ZY-11 with a Basileus Alpha S shaft. Club is silly long, low spin- one awesome wind club. Just silly silly long- I can launch it high and it just keeps going into the wind. 3 weeks later I then bought a Crazy 435ii to get a Basileus AAA X. Holy Scheiße!!!! The feel of that combo is mind blowing. Well, nothing exceeds like excess so 1 week later I just bought the (original) Crazy 435 and put in a VTS Black 6S.

 

I can hit all 3 within yards of each other. The ZY is the most forgiving of the 3. You hit one and think you haven't nutted it and the ball just goes a mile.

 

My only complaint is that I tend to miss left- they all have square faces- I've been playing an open face for well over a decade- going back to the 400cc (Tour) r7 Quad.

 

But my God they just hammer the ball and like the i15 the ball hits the ground runnin like a thief!
