Best JDM Driver HEAD???

That's a tough question. What attributes do you look for in a driver? Compact, full, deep face, shallow face, pure distance or balanced performance, soft or firmer feel, lower spinning or mid spin?

well the i25 is probably my fav driver head out there i like a solid heavy head not a tinny light one, and i need it to be fade biased my miss is always a hook but i am not a crazy long hitter about 270 for a normal drive, dont hit the ball very high usually low and swing speed not x stiff but definitely stiff like 110 or so

I'm fond of the Mizuno Craft 611 driver i have - it's 440cc and you can order + or - 1-1/2 degrees of lie angle from the 58 degree standard.

However, if i was looking now... I'd be very interested in Jbeam. Particularly the ZY-11 head - very deep face, weirdosh triangular look from sole but at address a very nice traditional and compact look. It's factory foamed so won't spind lke a coke can...

Tourspecgolf is a good place to read up and / or order it - can specify face angle and loft... And i'd enquire about a lower lie angle as 60 degrees is silly.

I have only had one jdm head, so I can't say 'best' but jbeam 435 blackout is best head of the dozens US heads I've owned. Low launch low spin - get enough loft and it is long, reasonably forgiving, and a beauty to look at.

You could always search for an old Adams 9015d....

The undoubted most gorgeous modernish head i've owned was a Yonex eZone 380, at 380cc it's the top head below... And is classical beauty

]trio_07_addressballs_zpsc94b6a07.jpg

However, allowing for performance... I couldn't ignore the old legend, the unbeatable, the one, the only, the Adams 9015d as seen in the middle above.

Honestly.

Legendary performance, combined with gorgeous feel/sound... And a decent looking club for a 460cc head.

The bottom one barley visible is the Mizuno 611, smaller volume and flatter lie so it kind of evens out with the Adams' open face angle... I still use/ love both - both the adams and the mizuno, both 44" with a nunchuk shaft so i have backup.

Adams is in the middle below - you can see some similarities to the Jbeam zy-11, the Jbeam 435 does also have quite a following

I am happy with my 435. My only issue as was mentioned was after my honeymoon period with it, any miss toward the heel (my miss) seriously sounds like the head cracked on impact. Don't get me wrong, a strong pulled drive leaves the face, but man that crack makes me cringe.....the sound on the sweetspot however I don't mind at all even if a little different than most.

I've tried many JDM drivers in the past few months. The one I'm gaming now (primarily) is the PGN P-Tune PG313, which is rare in the sense that it is adjustable. Most JDM drivers/woods/hybrids are glued. Almost impossible to find the shaft adapter though, as PGN is a small boutique brand even by JDM standards. Good thing the 2 shafts I have (Muziik/Fujikura Bangvoo Premium and Basileus Z 70) are working very well for me, especially the Bangvoo.

Send me a PM if you want to know more about my JDM driver experiences or any one driver in particular. I could probably write 5 pages easily...

It's definitely the best looking driver I've seen in years but made for a very small group of players. Extremely low and unforgiving compared to anything I've hit.

So you're saying that the perfect looking driver isn't one that I should hit... Gotcha. :). Thanks for the warning.

No, definitely not since I'm not familiar with your game. ;) I was just surprised how low it went per indicated loft, even lower than the S-Yard T.388! And anything that low is inherently unforgiving. It was a bit light for my taste but it probably would be spectacular with some hotmelt filling the bottom. That would increase the weight and maybe even help with ball flight.

Too many great ones to name just one. Dive in and try some older ones before going for a brand spanker

That thing looks damn good. Can anyone compare it to an EPON Zero in terms of ball flight and forgiveness?
