I would need some hybrids instead of long irons, but I too like the setup.
I have an R15 and I'm thinking of doing the RSi Tp 4-9, and EF 47, 52, 58ATV. The 52 ATV looks nice, as does the trailing edge grind on his 58!

Are those the M1 head covers or new aftermarket TM covers? I like how they actually cover the shaft.

The RSi 2 retail heads list a 2-iron but I've never seen one in person. His version of the 2 seems to have a lot less offset though I'm assuming given what the 3 looks like.

Anyone know if his 4-wood is the tour only S prototype with the shallower face and bigger head? Some are listed on The Vault.

Why is everyone reporting it wrong? It clearly is the XTS,why don't they just say, "Jason day is using the Kuro Kage XTS? It's just plain lying and false advertising. These sites and manufacturers needed to get they're equipment straight and tell the truth.

I believe on the Vault it said he played the bigger head Proto. Same size as non-TP, open/square face, neutral biased. Sounds like a winner to me, why were they Tour Only again?

He is playing the KK XTS which is the exact same as the retail KK XT. Its engraved XTS because it was the prototype for the XT and in the testing phase. The problem everyone should have is that Rory is also playing the KK XT painted to look like an S+ lol That is the real thorn in my side.

Yes I was surprized by the amount of dings but what I find even more odd is the big spot of worn paint. Does he drag the toe of the putter while practicing on freshly sanded greens?

No, it's actually just from use the putter when bending down to pick the ball up out of the hole. I have a brand new spider that's starting wear in the exact same spot.

He starts out with a head that measures around 10.5° and then uses a 1.5° adapter on the lowest setting, which moves the loft closer to 9°

Completely agree J. But if we open that up then we have to get into DJ playing the F1 with the 661X paint job, Tiger playing a blueboard under S+ paint,etc.

It's all BS, and all of these piss me off but I think the Day mislead is a stupid one since he is still playing an KK, but the XTS not the Silver TiNi. Why not just say I'm playing the newer XTS?

Im torn on the above as well, while I would also like full disclosure; I find a NASCAR analogy appropriate(I AM NOT A NASCAR FAN though); the chevy impala you see on the track is only a skin version of the car you can purchase in the show room. While I would like to have the 700 HP motor, its probably something i am going to kill myself with and really doesnt fit my daily driving habits.

While many on this board have SS that could prob. use similar equipment, most of the golfing public when they go into their local golf shop and ask for Jason Day's driver would be sadly disappointed if they actually got it, hense the re paint. The head covers and repaint is marketing for the 90% of the golfing publi, and represent 90% of the OEM's sales. NOT intended for the golf WRX membership, tough its why we are on this board right????

..that Silver Tini ain't bad, its knocked out some nice shafts I have for my R15 430. I don't care, it was nice that Day uses the KK line as I found out while watchin the PGA, that was about a month after I decided to adopt the KK Silver Tini for my driver. As I recall, KK was not very popular and very underated as compared to the Blueboard/Kaili/S+ or Whiteboard/Ahine/D+/W lines.

I really don't think there are that many big hitters here in GWrx, most are average and the big hitters are away from the KK lines anyway and more into the XPhlex, Hrzdus, or whatever the next major 110+ driver shaft with the latest tech is...


While we're at it...why isn't he on the 430 R15 instead of the 460. lol.

Most of the time it's because theres an agreement between the shaft companies and club companies to make it look like the player is using the stock offering.

What's the frustration with Day's shaft? There doesn't seem to be any deception intended. As I understand it, the XTS proto had Silver TiNi graphics and this shaft went into Day's bag before the XT came to retail. Are you suggesting that he should make a shaft change to a retail XT simply so the graphics are accurate? He was playing a prototype and manufacturers in all industries hide prototypes in retail graphics all the time. It seems perfectly reasonable to me that this stayed in his bag in the prototype form.

The players who have different branded shafts concealed in a wrap job are far more egregious than this.
