Heck any year Ironmaster putter is worth more than $1 in any shape or form. The one Augie has is the pyratone green shafted one and IMHO has exceptional feel. I have never owned one but have putted with one before in fact I have putted with several different ones. They really have an uncanny soft smooth feel to me. Funny thing anyone who I have ran into that has one does not want to part with it

My "A" sight line is not the sweet spot - I actually have to line the ball up with the outside of the ball just inside the "A", kind of like getting it set up really on the heel of the face, but such a good roll & feel.

Stu, I'll bring it with me, along with my Shamrock 101. But, I'll also be bringing them home with me.

I got a set of Snake Eyes Ultimate Design irons (2 through SW) for $19.99 at PIA yesterday.

I also traded in four clubs I got from Goodwill and used the credit to buy a set of VR Forged (4-PW) for $5.00.

Today's score at GW. Full set 3 thru L wedge of Kenneth Smith KS2000 oversize irons with matching woods and a nice Nike cart bag. Total price - $22. The 3&5 wood are really nice, but the driver is the small head (old model), both the irons and FW woods look brand new. If they were played, it was only once or twice. Since the company folded in 2004, I'm assuming that the KS2000, is the year of this model.

Yeah, they look very similar, but there are lots of other models that look just like them. Apparently it was a kind of standard design for that time period. I was just curious, because KS irons were advertised as hand made and these I doubt are hand made.

The Palmer clubs came out about 1985 (mid eighties). The company was under the "Pro-Group" umbrella at the time and this was an attempt to capture some of the game improvement iron market that was just starting to gather steam thanks to the Ping Eye 2. It was meant to copy some of the design concepts of the Hogan Radial and appeal to better players. Back then, there was some pushback from better players about playing clubs that were "ugly" (investment cast 17-4 steel). But clubs like this and the Radial were meant to appeal to those players with chrome and less offset but still allow for some game improvement qualities with the added weight on the sole of the club. It never became a real popular club but it was a very good club. I think it was sold in proshops only. They also made a real shallow face blade at the same time called the Peerless. A couple years later they came up with the Axiom and then Axiom II and that was the company's most popular game improvement iron.

Today I was browsing through a thrift shop down by the beach not known for golf offerings but in a scruffy vinyl bag I noticed a Slazenger Nicklaus Golden Bear #3 wood in "reasonable" condition, and on further checking there was a #5 wood there as well. Spent $10 for both and took them back home for a cleanup. The reason I bought them is because I already have the #4 in my irregular bag so I now have the matching set 3 4 5. They are laminates rather than persimmon but they did clean up well with a bit of work with cutting paste and detergent. The grips are stuffed, cracked, but I can either replace them or just leave them as is. Shafts and heads are good. They will go into my MacGregor vintage bag and I will give them a run next time out on the practice range. Cheers

The one on left looks like the model the Crenshaw grind was based on.
