You were not imagining it. I saw the date thing also when checking out Dcopp's bag post yesterday. Had a '16 date, was like "what the....", doubled checked that I was on the last page. Don't know if I was logged in or not, on mobile or laptop. There's been so much weird shizzle going on around here (ex. log in gymnastics, temporarily losing the edit function, etc. etc.), lose track of what I observe happening and when I see it. Seems to still be a number of "gremlins in the machine" relative to the most basic of site functionalities. Annoying, but we persevere.

Updates from my post above: Got the shoes and the putter cleaned up nicely...shoes got a vigorous regimen of saddle soap, white shoe polish, and buffed with Sno Seal...new Copper Fit insoles, some metal-threaded Champ Zarma spikes (to replace the steel spikes it came with) and some black waxed laces, and they're on their way! The putter got a bath in salt and vinegar, then a little polish with some 000 steel wool.

That scuff on the sole buffed right outta the wedge:

I can't hit the wedge worth a darn with the fat Lamkin grip on it, the putter feels amazing and I want to keep using it, but I will need a little more practice. The shoes are comfy AF. While I haven't had the course yet, I've put a couple miles under 'em taking the dog for a walk and trying to break them into my feet.

Glad you cleared that up--- I thought it may be my inept computer skills or this new computer which BTW is a POS. This is the latest greatest laptop ( supposedly) but I swear it is not as good as my 13 year old one before it fried itself

The shoes look great, long time since I have seen some kilties.

Man this forum is really gummy. It doesn't even want to load on my smart phone anymore.

I got a pair of GEOX NET golf shoes for $4.50 (after 50% off coupon) monday. Look like they had been worn once or twice. I'll still toss them in the machine washer on hot. I think that was a decent deal though.

Man I really hear you on the site speed thing. I thought it was slow too - good to hear I'm not the only one. I browse from my phone exclusively so maybe it's a mobile thing. My wife's been wondering why I keep looking at my phone and saying, "While we're young!" Haha

Nice deal on the shoes. I love getting good ones for cheap. You can't have too many nice golf shoes.

My phone isn't that old. The techie people will say it's ancient, but I'll be damned if I'm dropping a cold stack ($1000) on something "new" just so I can get shot in the head for it in Minneapolis lol.

If you like it and feel comfortable hitting it, then don't change it.

Hit it plenty of times (especially on the course), and if you then feel that may be it's not a good fit for you, then, and only then, think about changing shafts.

I've got 4 V-steels: Tour Spoon, 4w, 7w, and 9w. I changed the shaft in all of mine, but I did try them first.

I got lucky with my 7w, finding an normally expensive aftermarket shaft secondhand at a good price and knowing it fit me because I'd tried the same shaft in other clubs.

With my 9w, I knew I wanted something heavy-ish and low-ish and again picked up a decent shaft that fit the bill.

For my 4w, I cocked up and got something too low-spinning and stiff for me.

As for my Tour Spoon, I seem to have selected a shaft that fits one of my golfing mates perfectly!

And proclaimed by WRXguy as the bestest, longest, straightest driver evah. Offered for sale in BST two months later. Sans the mink headcover (that's a keeper).

Yep that is a darn good shaft. Sets up well with those clubs. Good combination IMHO of a stiff tipped shaft that is light. Someone at TM did their homework designing that shaft for those heads

I'm always on the lookout for odd-ball clubs when fossicking around the thrift/charity shops and yesterday, in a barrel full of abandoned clubs, I came across a Harvey Penick Professional "Take Dead Aim" SW. I was looking for a SW for one of my sets so took particular notice of this one. I had never heard of Harvey Penick before but some online searching turned up a very interesting and informative character with some solid tips, like taking dead aim for one. This club is a heavy one, larger than most, nice Paragon low torque shaft and 5 star leather wound grip. After cleaning the head with Barkeeps this $3 club will be staying in my collection. wnayxjekrjye.jpg

Ben Crenshaw's putting coach or mentor as I recall. I've attained some Penick clubs from thrift over the years.

Sad but true, down here south of the horse latitudes we don't always get to hear or read about American coaches. I think one of his popular books was called the little red book or something similar - I'll keep an eye out for it.
