I played there Saturday. Tough conditions. Was cooler (55) when I started at 2 and by the start of the back 9 was borderline chilly and the wind was picking up. Factor in greens that had sand on them and it made for a tough scoring day. Blew up on 9 with a solid triple, followed by a double at 10. Went +1 over the next 4 holes, but then 16 got me. Parred 18 for a 91. Should have been an 85.

Anyone have course suggestions for South Jersey? I was suppose to be playing Woodcrest Country Club on the 30th but they are aerating the greens that day. Seeing now if my group can get on to Trump National Philadelphia but in the case that we can't I am wondering about some other good tracks down in that neck of the woods.

I love Ballamor. You can tell they spent a ton building that course....especially all of the stone bulkheads around the ponds. Fun & challenging course!

If y'all are looking for a nice track at a reasonable rate, we played Great Bear (a Nicklaus property) out towards East Stroudsburg, PA yesterday. Got on for $30 including cart through teeoff.com. It's another of the formerly private cliubs in the area, course was in great shape, pace of play was excellent (3.5 hours), & staff was very friendly. Worth the trip over the river and got a better deal than Architects or even the in county rate at Heron Glen.

 

They are still working on the new liquor license for Jack's Pub though, so minus 1/4 star for that. :)

played pretty good -- learned a few things - shot 73 (+1) off the back tees; 4 birdies, 5 bogeys. played a money game with some members; lost $5 total lol

played pretty good -- learned a few things - shot 73 (+1) off the back tees; 4 birdies, 5 bogeys. played a money game with some members; lost $5 total lol

How's the course. I'm playing in the mid-am qualifier there. Planning on getting out in a few weeks with a friend who's brother is a member. Looks like a good layout from google earth, but tough to tell from satellite images only.

the front is roughly 245 or so. the actual play is to hit it LONG of the green to chip back to the hole. it's rough.

 

not sure on costs - but have been told they're open to negotiation

Found a new favorite local course.. cedar Creek down in bayville, just about 15 min from me. Course is in such better condition than my home course, plus will be cheaper for guests

 

For non members my home course charges about 70 for 18+cart, this one was 45.. I think even $40 if booked online.

I'm actually lucky enough to be able to go to work in golf attire daily even working in finance at a big office so its even easier

Only difference is I come home from the golf course with the look of disappointment on my face, even if I'm dressed the same. She knows... oh she knows.
