How are everyone's courses fairing in this soggy weather? I know Galloping Hill had their back nine closed recently as its pretty much in a wetland.

I played Crystal Springs this past Sunday and it was fine.

Playing Black Bear this Sunday. More rain this past week. Hopefully that course has held up too.

played black bear on sunday -- it wasn't dry at all. greens were very receptive and left some serious holes.

playing flanders gold/red this afternoon, shawnee inn/resort tomorrow, and sunday i'm looking to get out somewhere - not sure yet. i turn 33 tomorrow - this weekend is golf, beers, cigars. lol

Thanks! She actually caught a real bad break in the second to last hole of stroke play...lost her tee ball just off the fairway in normal rough, ran out of time to search, went back and as soon as she re-hit, her playing partner found the 1st ball with a clear shot to the green! Made double

I didnt realize that good golf swings are genetic. I look forward to betting on her winning LPGA events in the upcoming years.

Let's get a round soon at my place, I'll be back in NJ/PA full time in the upcoming weeks.

Hey guys. I'm playing Wild Turkey at Crystal Springs this coming Sunday and have a question for those more familiar with the course than I. I have played before but I was wondering if any of you know how many yards short you should play the massive down hill par 3 (#11). If anyone could help that would be great!

I want to say I hit 160 club from whites, luckily ended up in the little narrow green strip in the middle

So I figured I'd start a thread to gauge all of the Jersey golfers here. I'm down in Bayville but always looking for new guys to tee it up with across the state. Unfortunately, most of my buddies either don't play or would be better off bowling instead of playing golf. Would love to get some rounds together with the Jersey guys.

Im down in bayville also

Usually play sea oaks or eagle ridge and lakewood

any tips for mine brook? playing tomorrow.

Yes.

First off, don't expect anything other than below avg fairways. They aren't great to start with, but the rains have prevented them from mowing nicely. Now the past few days may have changed this.

Now on to the tips.

#1 make sure you drive it into the left hand corner of the fairway. This way if you drive it far enough you have a clear shot to the green. Huge tree on the right hand corner of the dogleg prevents a clear shot and also forces you to lay up down the left side of the fairway.

#2 do not go long. You'll be hating life. Green slopes back to front and had a hump in the middle.

#4 drive it down the left with a hybrid or 3W. Creek cutting across the fairway is only 225 downhill. Make sure you're left, otherwise no shot to the green.

#8 another dog leg right, similar to 1 and 4. Make sure you drive it far enough or you have no shot at the green. Need at least a drive of 225.

9 and 10, straightforward holes. But double check your alignment, as the tee boxes point you directly left.

11, it's a b**** of a hole. Almost like they crammed it back there. Bad dog leg left, try to cut the corner, otherwise it's a 190 yards from a ball well above your feet.

14, Par 3, everything rolls right to left from the tee box.

15, make sure you drive it down the left side, because the fairway is really sloped and your ball will roll right. So if you drive it down the middle, it will roll into the rough. Every putt on this green breaks away from the hill. Don't trust your eyes, use the mountain instead.

16.. make sure you're middle / right, or you have no shot at green. Bad dog leg to the left. Typically it's a 3W 9i/wedge hole.

18.. hit a big slice off the tee. After that, it's straight.

Also, don't expect much grass on the tee boxes on the back 9.

Pretty accurate description of Mine brook. Not much grass on the tees is about as real is it gets haha. Easy course with some impossible holes!

Many times. It's not really all that fun compared to the others. Conditions are usually better at the other courses too.
