If that's the case, then it's "players" woods one year and "game improvement" the next. Similar to how SLDR had JetSpeed etc..

 

So assuming the Vapor Fly was the players style, next round of woods would be more adjustable or more fitting styles?? IF that were the case

Not arguing with you but why does that have to be the case? Why couldn't they release woods every 2 years, forged irons every 2 years, game improvement irons every 2 years, and short game every 2 years...all in differing cycles. Kind of similar to Titleist.

 

I'm asking, not trying to be rude. There could be a retail perspective that I'm not grasping.

I'll be skipping them if they do come out with new ones next year anyways. Never had a better driver than the fly pro and couldn't be happier with last year's 3 wood

I'm not disagreeing with you one bit. A lot of companies have 2 year cycles. All I'm implying is that IF Nike does move to a 2 year cycle, it would make sense to have every other year be "Players" clubs and the next "Game improvement" clubs. It makes perfect sense to do so, but I'm not in charge of Nike Golf ;)

The Titliest model would work too but I don't see Nike making that move. I'd much rather see this..

 

say 2016 is "game improvement" for the sake of the irons they released (cast, forgiving, high launch).

 

2017 - make next year forged offerings (blades, combo blades, forged wedges) and then a better players fairway/driver set.

 

2018 - keep the 2017 models in the lineup and update the game improvement models (replace vapor fly pro, vapor fly, new cast wedges)

 

2019 - keep the 2018 models and release new blades and forged sticks etc..

I don't Nike could pull it off. Titleist has a bigger and more loyal fan base.

 

I like that the irons follow the every other year but don't think they could do it in drivers.

 

You want to release woods every year because it keeps you in the news. The only issue is every other year has been a punt by Nike lately in the driver category. Covert was great. They followed it up with the meh 2.0 then Vapor was great because the compression channel came back and this year is basically blue vapors except for a lighter crown.

 

Expecting good things from 2017 with that being said

Nike never releases the good s*** to retail. The vapor irons look like a bad design idea. Forged muscle back with the muscle cut out and replaced by a piece of plastic? They all are super high moi? Who wants high moi in a forged players iron...They could just keep pumping out different looking VRS forged and I think they would sell better.

They didn't cut out the muscle. It's pretty much the exact same club as the MM Protos except the muscle area had a PVD finish applied to the outlined muscle area. No material removed whatsoever and that PVD finish was so thin you could remove it (which people have done and they look exactly like the MM Protos).

What are you talking about Willis? Have you even played anything Nike? I've played the Vapor Pro irons for the last 2 years now and I can honestly say that they are the best irons I've played. They look like a bad idea, until you hit them.

As for driver's, they seem to have a "Speed" (GI), "Pro" (better players), and "Flex" (adjustable) type driver yearly now. I'd guess it will continue in that manner.

Yeah my bro has the originals and still plays them. The black paint has come out of the swooshes on some of them, and it looks so cool. How come manufacturers always make you pay so much for subtlety like that? I can't stand colours and textures on my clubs.

Typically Nike tour guys will be seen just around the same time that Nike makes the news/press release. Then they are released to retail a few weeks later. Unless it's a situation like the MM Protos where a prototype is played, then the actual version is revealed later
