And there's the biggest challenge!

For about half my career; I was really only building server side systems. It's pretty easy because it's largely predictable and easy to bail out. If the input isn't what you're expecting - no problem; just throw an error and don't do anything else. Otherwise, do your routine and return the result and it's someone else's problem at that point. Point being; super easy to minimize variables.

Then at some point I made the switch to dealing with human interaction. That was dumb of me.

i’ve always believed anticipation of behavior in coding is so important, but companies do it poorly. they leave it up to the coder and it’s not fair. the marketing and sales weenies are absolved of responsibility.

Kinda the challenge though, right? We can surely plan for the obvious but people are weird and unpredictable. Especially when dealing with direct, physical input.

Best QA guy I ever worked with had Tourette's. Take from that what you will!

I have not been to India or Manila or Bangkok, but Jamaica has the wildest, most aggressive traffic patterns I’ve encountered.  Kingston, and even moreso going over the mountains man I will NEVER drive that again for love or money.

Also have not been in Cairo…..have been told that is the wildest traffic on 🌍

Yeah, Jamaica was terror on wheels. Dodge van with left side steering and the "driver" blind passing on outside curves with horn blasting. Thought we were dead. I saw some bad bus accidents around Bangkok with passengers thrown from the top along with luggage on to roads and into canals.

This thing is bananas!!  🤣.   Built this cougar in 2008 from boxes of parts and a hardtop parts car.   It’s seen 127k miles ( a ton for a collector car ) and now a new owner since then. Old owner told the new owner who to take it to.  So here it is. All the way back from Connecticut.  With an engine noise.  Tore it half way down today and made the decision that it needs overhauling.

thats when you realize you’ve been doing this for most of your life. When you get to build an engine twice from wear and tear.

Well at least they wore it out driving it. I cannot stand garage Queens or Trailer Queens. Now I can somewhat see it with a super rare car worth millions. I was like that when I rode motorcycles. I rode mine. The last Maggie Valley rally we went to I RODE my 1976 Harley Shovelhead. One of the guys at the Concrete company I worked out had a brand new Road King top of the line all the bells and whistles. He came by us going up Saluda mountain TOWING the damn thing on a trailer. I laughed. We have a saying here at the Beach on the bike rallies. We call it trailer week. I also used to say if you saw my bike on a trailer call 911.

My motorcycle trailer was a small camper that went on the touring bike's hitch.  For the life of me, I cannot understand putting a functioning vehicle on a trailer and towing it somewhere to go play.  The Woodward Dream Cruise is exactly the same as Sturgis, Daytona and many other trailer rallies.

Yep. I’d be all about a rowdy big block if it were mine.   But he’s going to settle for a rowdy Cleveland … just got finished the conversation about what parts to use and how much power is expected .  Getting 400 hp out of one these days just requires a credit card. Nothing more. So that’s the target.  Will be simple enough.

agree on the color.  That was my choice. Originally it was gold.  Like poop brown - gold. 🤣.  I like color.

YEA BABY!! You haven't lived until you've scattered a rear end in front of about 50 classmates!😅

LOL I scattered a 10 bolt one time leaving Mickey Dees in my 427 66 Chevelle SS. Bought a 12 bolt Posi unit from a junkyard out of a wrecked 70 SS 396. Exploded it 2 weeks later lighting it up coming out of the What A Burger in Concord NC. Remember I was young then and did not know Zilch. One of the good customers at the Golf Course was a NASCAR driver. He enlightened me on the Ford 9 inch rear ends. He hooked me up with a guy and I bought one. He also gave me a set of springs so the rear would not load so violently. I was going to have to change Mags because the bolt patterns were different. He hooked me up with 2 NASCAR rims like they ran at the time. Told me with that much HP and torque on the ground I needed steel wheels for safety sake, Also with the beefier rear end I had to change driveshafts and had they guy who built his NASCAR drive shafts do one for me. Never had any more drive line problems

My grandpa was a car guy. Owned lots of really cool stuff my mom grew up around. Tri 5, ‘57 fuelie, a sweet Continental, and a ‘79 Town Car that I could not get enough of as a kid.

My mom inherited the love of cars when he bought her a ‘71 Cougar, 351C, baby blue paint on navy blue interior as a grad school graduation present. I am a 1976 model myself and I have faint memories of that car….sad to say by 1979/80 it was rusty to the point she couldn’t keep it any longer. 🙁

This chick or woman I should say, divorced, mid-40s, Benz convertible, got the big house, got huge…..🤣

Anyway, I was like 23 and very happy about it but then one night she tells me to meet her at this bar.

So I go and it’s like all her rich friends from this town and they all looking at me like I gigolo!! 🤣

Was very embarrassing!

Just under 30 minutes left in my work week. Hitting the range straight from here today, then playing at 8:00 tomorrow morning. Might play again on Friday if I feel frisky enough.

Granted, I just had a vacation a couple weeks ago, but I'm even more excited about this week's staycation since nobody else on the payroll will be working the next couple of days. My inbox will be far less daunting by Monday. 😅
