I've just seem a Molinari teeing off wearing a woolly hat and sweater. 145 miles away on the east coast I'm sat in shorts with light winds, blue sky and nigh on 30* c. Strange country this.

 

On another note McIlroy appears to be a worse putter than I am, who would have thought it.

Rory blaming the draw again. Yawn. I think Phil and Stenson could falter. A nice 67 or so from those 3-4 under and it's game on for them. 11-12 under to win on Sunday. I like Haas or Garcia to come through to challenge.

 

I wouldn't count on a good weekend from Haas. 27 starts in majors with 0 top tens. But who knows, maybe this is his week...

 

Dude made a lot money in the last ten years (around $35mil including the FedEx cup win) but I really believe he doesn't possess the killer instinct to win in majors

Sarah Stirk is a woman.

She is not a clothes hanger like many are today.

But what is more important is that she is a very good golf journalist. She asks good questions and shows a lot of insight in her interviews.

I really don't know what Nike are up to this year. First those terrible cheap looking shirts with snap fasteners insetad of proper buttons, and now this thing, which looks like a bullet proof vest of a member of a SWAT unit.

Today I find myself fighting demons. I normally hide it quite well, and support with subtlety, but in reality I'm a massive Sir Phil fanboy. However, in a moment of quiet reflection I found myself thinking that I might actually prefer to see King Henrik win this thing.

After an enjoyable Thursday and Friday coverage of the Open with 14+ hours of golf, we now switch to NBC which is unwatchable with what seems like a commercial every 15 minutes. Time to wear out the FF on the DVR as live is a no go..
