I hoped they would play well today...maybe they can win it all!!

I think it's even tougher to watch Lexi Thompson put. If she is inside 10 feet, it seems to be an automatic miss. She looks so uncomfortable putting and her stroke looks terrible...very hard to watch. If she could put, I think whomever she is paired with would leave other's in the dust.

 

What I could see from a distance on the practice green wasn't great either She looked to be ~5 ft from a hole that I saw her miss 3 out of 5 in one stretch.

The storms aren't going to do anything yet. Still going to be humid again today, with a chance at a couple passing storms. There was a quick scare yesterday, with a storm passing just miles north of the course, Skies got dark, got windy, temperature dropped about 20 degrees in a matter of minutes, and then when it passed on, the sun came back out and it was as hot as any point in the day.

About 99% sure I'll be attending tomorrow (Saturday) - I live in eastern Iowa, but the forecast for Gurnee looks pretty decent. I did go to the 2000 U.S. Open at the Merit Club, and recall thinking it was a pretty nice layout.

Not normally a fan but I really hope Mel Reid pulls off a desperation win. This is one of the most dramatic situations I've ever seen in a multinational women's team golf competition and I am very glad the rules allow a single player to compete against a two-ball in this scenario.

Big Mel Reid fan here. She is smokin' hot, not afraid to smile, and has a nice little attitude. She's no Mozo, but she's something.

 

Looks like they are back to square through 14 (based on the suspect UL/International Crown website scoring). It would be impressive if she hangs with them 2v1, especially since she played like poo yesterday.

It is funny you can tell the whole GC crew was rooting for Mel. When Nomura dropped the digger at 17, the screen went silent. Then only Judy managed to say something to the effect that it was a lucky putt. :D

I have no problem with it. She wants to win, no matter how it looks given the situation.

 

Theres winning and celebrating a win against equal competition, and there is winning a match stacked against your opponent.

 

I wouldn't celebrate winning a 2v1 match against someone, a handshake and some kind words is about it.
