I know who at the studio banned me. I think they are great people and hold no I'll will towards them. They are firmly invested in SC and can't have any detractors. They literally put food on the table based on SC. I don't think any less of them. It sucks but it's business. If you were in business and one of your top 10 best customers in the US was vocally supporting the competition you would blacklist that person to. Well maybe I would have reached out to them and convinced them to stay with me, but each business is different. Is anyone on WRX gonna say SC and Lamb don't put out amazing work?

Acy I think maybe amongst your group of friends your hilarious. However across the keyboard your brand of humor comes of quite stale. Who's putters do you collect? Any pictures of your collection? My new Tyson stick and all the photos I got throughout the build. I had many putters made for me over the years but nothing like this when it come to my input on my money spent. So cool. This stick cost me my membership on TCC as I got a lifetime ban for disloyalty to Scotty Cameron direct from him. It's safe to say I'm all in on Mr. Lamb

I don't get why it always has to be a comparison with SC or vs another maker. You can collect/like different things/brands and just enjoy each for what it is and not compare. Ah well. To each their own.

 

Exactly, I like MANY different craftsman who make sweet flatsticks. I work with a guy who truly believes anything other than anything SC is NOT a real putter. Lol

Glad to see some putters finally making it to the buyers.

 

In regards to his CS or business acumen, I think he just cannot fit that bill. This reminds me of the steel frame custom bicycle market. Guys can create an aesthetically exciting product but have 0 business sense. As a result, potential buyers are turned off and look elsewhere. Plenty of stories of unreturned emails, phone calls, dropped orders, and paid for and unfilled orders. There is no saving this and without intervention the company is doomed. Does not take anything away from the product, just that the person making the product should not run the business.

 

Niche markets are small, you cannot afford to burn any bridge.

Other custom-made metal fabrications I believe. He machines all sorts of steel, like steering wheel frames and the like.

 

Edit: Would I classify these EXTRAs as legit business? All depends on sales and where you draw the line between IT and a hobby.

he is a machinist first and a putter maker second. i believe he will basically machine anything you could think up. i know he makes super high end car parts for fabrication shows. i also know he was in the business of making croc skin belts and buckles and such when he firs started out. whatever pays the bills.

Id like to give Tyson and Tana some props. After the PGA Show they tracked down my unreturned email and sent me a nice note apologizing for not getting back to me. We talked on the phone today and they are taking care of the past problem with my belt buckles which seems like it wasn't Tysons issue anyways but a problem with his former partner. Either way I really appreciate that they took the time to go back and find my email and try to rectify the situation. As someone who has been on the other side of it I give them alot of credit for doing what they can to fix problems and get better. Growing pains can be tough especially for a very small young company and I wish them all the best. Tyson is clearly very talented and I hope he can build his company into something great. In an age of increased automation and less human interaction, the game needs more great craftsmen imo.

Congrats, Raider, that is some amazing work. Tyson definitely has a unique talent especially at such a young age. Truly hope he gets all the administrative side worked out because if he does I think he's going to be very, very successful! With what Fairway and some others have recently said, it sounds like he's already making significant progress!!
