do i think more putters need to be released? Absolutely.

would i ever tell a successful business person how to run their business? id give my 2 cents, but would respect their decisions.

i could care less what anyone thinks. Tyson is literally printing money, dont hate on him for it. every person on this thread would buy a stake in his company if they could.

 

but i agree he needs to release some putters.....so i understand the frustration there....

I don't collect putters, but I would try to save the dough to buy and game a Lamb if I felt more of a connection to what he does - or bought into his philosophy.. But, I don't really,,, not enough..

 

Tyson is not literally printing money, and if I had to guess, he probably doesn't need the money which is why he practices his business the way he does. I don't get why some get all butt hurt over not being able to get a piece of his pie. There are more deserving craftsmen making putters who you could support. I would be very wary if I were a collector. If things go south all you will have done was fund a mans play date. Look at Machine..

 

ok i am with you on this theory. answer one question for me.....why is tyson selling out in seconds and making money hand over fist and lots of other companies just cant seem to break through in the world of collectible putters/accessories?

 

i know the answer to tysons success, but im curious as to know your thoughts on why he is considered to be #2 behind cameron......

collectibility. the second strongest collectors market is Lamb behind Cameron. thats not me stating either....the market is saying that

 

I have alot of Lamb stuff and generally like the brand but this is a pretty LOL comment. The secondary market for covers and markers released within the last 6 months is not great. Especially covers. They do not limit tools anymore really and rarely do any super limited releases. Are the putters collectible? Probably but thats because he doesnt make any for the public. He promised monthly putter releases starting in april. That didnt happen. He did one release and it was a month late. Just don't call yourself a putter company when its pretty clear at this point they are not a putter company in any way shape or form. They are an accessory company that makes some great looking putters when they are actually made.

 

I get it, you are his friend but you are alot of talk as well. Guys like you are actually the reason the brand gets alot of hate but you just do not see that.

As of now I don't believe he will be at the PGA. Other options have been discussed but nothing settled on yet.

Jim Butler at Table Rock, who used to run the booth that tyson was at has decided he too is now a putter maker. JMI Putters. Tyson didnt want to waste the time/money getting a booth. The golf industry knows who he is.

That's a cool looking divot tool; wouldn't mind grabbing one. I know a few of you have said what an odd trinket, but for someone like me I do like having a few different tools/markers for the season. I am fortunate enough to be able to play pretty much year round, so having something for Halloween, Christmas, New Years, etc is a "thing" for me. I have my general tool and maker that I use more often than not, but having some fun festive items seems cool to IMO.

True. Different market segments for sure, and it's obvious the golfing public isn't the one that TL is going after.

Seems like demand is down. Releases still available on the website, and the ebay prices seem barely over cost.
