Cobra King F7 Driver, Fairway Woods and Hybrids: In-hand photos

I didn't get to hit the F7+ extensively so I'd be curious to see if it is as forgiving as the LS is on the course. I'd be surprised if it is being a smaller head but it may be the sleeper for 17 with all the hype the Epic and M2's are getting. People should try it if their looking this year. I'm sitting it out in 17.

I tried the whole line up the other day, and it's easily one of the most impressive out there. The numbers are going to be hard to beat. I'm sure Cobra will have the lowest CG and highest MOI driver options on the market in 2017, just as they did for 2016

Wasn't the Ping G the highest moi driver in 2016 ?

I see:

G - 5027

F6 - 4968

He could be referring just to the ratio of sorts between high MOI and low CG which the King LTD is going to be hard to beat in.

There's only two cobra aligned shops I know of in town and the one I talked to is also Callaway aligned and she told me to watch out on the F7+ in the independent tests because she was far more impressed with it than the Epic. Of course, that's just a second hand opinion but I agree it could be a dark horse for best '17 driver because I trust her opinion, she's the one + this site that really got me looking at the LTD when I was sort of being pulled toward the XR16 by my friends/coach.

I agree. Ping and Cobra are kinda in the same slots in this regards. Then it comes down to feel, looks, brand preference and the likes. Both make strong offerings.

Correct. Thanks for the clarification.

Based on the numbers I have seen, the F7 and F7+ CG & MOI are even better positioned than last year's F6 and F6+

Any idea on if the adapters from the F6/LTD series fit in with these F7's? I'm assuming they do....

Yes, still same adapters.

Other than slightly different loft (F7 goes from 9-12 degrees, F7+ 8-11), it doesn't seem like there is much difference from the F7 to F7+. I wonder if most would be better in the F7 and just saving the $50 difference.

I think that applies to much of what is talked about on this site. If it isn't labeled Pro, Tour, or +, nobody here will admit to gaming it.

I'd bet that if most makers had the exact same club as the regular version, but with a Tour or Pro label on it people would be talking about how easy it was to work, etc.

mucho confirmation bias. :)

I hit both and the F7 spun like a top for me. The F7+ was in the 2300 range and carry was about 25 yards longer. In a hitting bay but guessing the F7 was just a balloon for me. 108SS avg. close to 0 on AoA.

I am very excited to try the King Forged Tour Irons. I will also definitely try the F7+ against my M1 and the new Epic.

Were the weights and shaft the same?

They look the exact same as the Fly-Z+ and they haven't said how they are at all different

I can't see a single difference, maybe the tpu insert is a little bit smaller on one vs the other, but I loved the fly z+ irons and imo these look better. I am not really sure how the fly z+ irons could be improved upon anyway.

The only issue I had with the fly z+ irons is that the shafts were a poor fit for me. I am interested to see what these do when ordered with the correct shaft.

Um one says King not Cobra and has Forged Tour verbiage instead of Fly-Z+

Can't tell if you were joking or not ugh

glad to hear there is a difference in the 2 heads, not just a $50 up charge. Would you call the + a deep faced driver.

Hit the F7+ today looks really good, sound and feel are great! The spin was way to high for me with the stock shaft!

I may cancel my M2 fitting and wait until the big stores get the F7 in stock, along with Epic. Watching Rick's review of it... He's hitting it just as far as the new M2. Even if Epic is 5 yards longer, I'm guessing it will retail for $500 while F7 will be $400 plus offer more no up charge shafts. I have a Cobra driver now and I really love the sound and feel, I'm very partial. I got monster numbers with M2 though... like, 20-30 yards longer than my Fly Z D:

Probably a shaft issue though too..

Woah I hit the F7+ today. Very impressed. I didn't mess with settings or shafts but it was the stock shaft which was too weak and was set at 9.5* weight forward.

I was hitting it next to an LTD w/ HZRDUS 6.5.

The F7+ felt amazing. Very different than LTD but also extremely good. And it seemed like it was the straightest driver I've ever hit

F7+ was definitely going straighter for whatever reason. Hard to say other than that. Tee was too low, and my swing isn't too consistent at the moment

I have a feeling this is going to be 3/4 years where Cobra releases the sleeper driver of the year. Bio Cell +/Pro, The King LTD and the F7+. Just a hunch, haven't hit it, but while other companies are jacking up prices, Cobra seems to be focused on their price point and offering as much technology and value as they can at the same price point as before. I like it.

To me, they are now what Adams used to be for a while there. Also loving that Nippons and a bunch of shafts are no upcharge in this year's irons, and the availability of HZRDUS Red and Yellow in the new drivers at no upcharge.

They have made the best drivers for the last few years. And can be had dirt cheap after 6 months

Cobra probably spends a lot of money on R&D and keeping overhead low, and passing savings on to us. They don't have a billion dollars into paying pros to use their clubs like TMAG and others do, they don't have a massive marketing team like others, etc, etc.

I think Cobra is extremely under rated by the TM, Cally, Titleist fanbois.

I'm considering going with the women's 3-4(turned down to 19*) head in the hybrid. I like the blue better than the orange.

hit two shots with the F7 plus (top two rows), one with my Ping G LST with the tour shaft.

This F7+ is amazeballs.

Might want to take the boost feature off the above numbers!

I took it into the bay where I work and the boost was off. Same result. More consistent.
