for those who have fit the f7 and the f7+, which do you think would be better for someone with a SS of 98-102? Currently have an R15 but thinking of switching

Your SS really has no baring on what head to get. The F7 will have more spin then the +. I personally don't like the head shape of the 7, but love the look, feel, sound, and the low spin of the F+. You really need to hit them.

I just hit the F7 finally. Hit it in a few shafts, none of which I really liked too much. Ultimately though, it was a great sounding driver, although I think this is a D4 swing weight, so coupled with a softer tip made it feel a little whippy and head heavy to me. Ball speeds were pretty good, but the M2 I tried was giving me a little more. Overall, I think later this year it will be a great driver for all of you who shop on a budget and buy used. I think if you found the right shaft, this is a winner. I like it much better than the F6 which I tried last summer.

Just hit the F7+ with the stock stiff shaft in the sim at Golfsmith. Definitely saw some slight distance gains versus my current set up (see signature). Would be very interested to swap in my gamer shaft and test the F7+ versus my LTD Pro versus the new Cally Epic offerings.

You hit it at GOLFSMITH? How???

Had a chance to hit the standard F7 in stock Stiff shaft only.

Beautiful looking driver. Didn't perform for me though. Unsure if it's head or shaft or combo of both.

Couldn't get the spin under 3000. And these were toe side strikes. With the weight back spin was over 3500 with it up front I had about a 200-350 spin drop but my shots still ballooned.

The heel position is terrible feels weird.

I swing around 100-105mph. 12HCP.

It's also very possible a heavier shaft would help. When they get the F7+ in I'll bring in my F6+ to compare and use my gamer shaft.

I agree - also tired the F7 and was not a fan at all.

Hit the F7+ today against the new TM and the new Epics. The F7+ felt and sounded best to me. Shaft was not a fit but will be interested in hitting this at my fitting in a few weeks. Epic SZ felt 2nd best to me.

Driver head cover is beautiful

It is, but it's a PITA to get onto the driver. Hopefully it stretches out a little.

Just picked up a new black F7 driver and 3W. Been hitting the demo driver every day for the last week or so against the new M2 (only since Thursday). To me the Cobra looks, feels and sounds better... wasn't digging the TM at all.

Stock shaft ended up giving me best numbers on the driver, so I got to grab one off the shelf this afternoon instead of waiting a couple of days, so that was handy. Gaming it tomorrow.

Coming from a G30 with Oban Devotion. May put a Cobra tip on that shaft just to see what happens.

Either way, I was getting about 10 more yards and 500-600 less spin with the Cobra over the Ping. Weight in the front position.

Sound and feel is nice, dispersion for me was better, distance is good. The stock grip is not my preference, so I guess I'll have to wait for other grips to be offered or just hack a GP MCC+4 to work with the Arccos. Checked out the Arccos app this evening and it looks pretty useful as just a GPS and score keeper, the driver distance feature is just the app doing the math I was already doing with my Hole19 app, so just an added bonus I guess. It wasn't a factor in the purchase, just a nice bonus and I'll probably just use the Arccos app in place of the Hole19.

I can't wait to hit those FW woods. Can anyone share their experiences?

Gamed the driver and 3W for the first time this morning. Driver felt great, ball flight was a little low so I'll probably go up to the 10.5 setting.

I only hit the 3W a few times from the turf but when I made good contact it was plenty long and straight. I was using an F6 Baffler before and the F7 felt pretty similar but was obviously longer. I had to change my swing a little since I hit the Baffler more like a hybrid/iron. Got steep the first time with the 3W and it was ugly. Changed to more of a sweeping swing and it was money! Played it off the tee for a few holes on the back 9 and it was great. Nice boring flight and plenty of distance. The course was really wet this morning so not getting any run on any of my shots, but distance seems on par with my G30 3W, maybe slightly longer. So far so good, with more time and familiarity I think these will be my gamers for a while...

Has anyone attempted to install a new grip but keep the Arccos sensor? I'm not a fan of the stock grip at all and I'd really like to switch to an MCC +4.

At first I was thinking the sensor was just plugged into the end of the shaft and the grip just had the end cut out to allow access, but from what I can tell I think its actually part of the grip, like it's built into the end cap. I guess I could cut it out of the stock grip and figure out a way to attach it to the end of the shaft and then cut a hole in the end of the new grip, but wanted to check and see if anyone has already tried this and figured it out. I know it's new tech so initial choices are going to be limited but I really hope someone other than Lamkin decides to start making grips for this system.

I guess I'll give it a shot and report back... if I lose the Arccos feature I won't be heartbroken, but if I can keep it and have the grip I want that would be ideal.

take this with a grain of salt as i am a 22 hcp, i received and F7+ driver as a gift and had a chance to try it out this weekend. Unsure of what i was going to do with it, thought about selling it etc but figured id give it a shot. Currently was gaming an R15 with a regular stock shaft. First off i think the head is a thing of beauty, the subtle checkered pattern on the crown i thought was very cool and i didn't notice it right away. I started hitting the f7+ on the range on day 1 and was unimpressed, couldn't hit the club, my cousin who is a 6 tried it as well and he was not a fan either. Fast forward to Sunday i was on the range and thought why not give it a shot. Was actually hitting it well and put it in play sunday and liked it. For a high capper like myself i think the shorter shaft is highly beneficial compared to my R15. I will be testing them side by side on a launch monitor in march but i can tell you i was getting more distance out of the f7+. Now i couldn't tell you if its because it was a stiff flex vs a regular, it was the shorter shaft, or what the reason why i was hitting it better than my R15 but once i got used to it i enjoyed hitting the club. Had a lot of trouble with the Arcos but not a huge deal breaker for me.

^^^^typically between 102-105....but haven't played since first of November so there will probably be some rust. Just happened that I was going to be close to the store so figured I'd go in and try them all out. My F6 I'm taking has been a great club & dialed in for me so looking forward to comparing them to it.

So....was able to test out a few of the new drivers yesterday vs my current gamer (F6).

A little about me to start out, former baseball player (all my life, through 2 years of college, then just started playing golf going on 4 years now). I have a handicap that hovers between 12-15 depending on time of year. Overall game is pretty consistent, but my driving dictates how my scores go...when driving is on, I shoot 78-82, when its not 85-90. So last few years I fitted myself trial & error buying drivers/shafts/shortening/weights etc. and the F6 with Tour Blue shaft was the winner for me. I've been a major Cobra driver lover since the Bio Cell and have owned everyone of them I think (Bio/Bio+/Bio Pro/Fly Z/Fly Z+/Ltd/F6 & just acquired a F6+ to try too. Just had more success with them then the other manufacturers & I've tried plenty of those too. I'm a low ball hitter, so play a higher loft then most wrx'ers & also a higher launch shaft, but hey it works for me so that's what's most important. Typical swing speed on monitors is usually around 100-105, but I honestly believe it is higher due to on course yardages.

So I haven't played since Veterans Day, weather here in Ky hasn't been the best, plus I just wanted to chill & not play for a bit...but the new year is here & its time to get back in the swing of things. So I was going to be close to a Golf Galaxy yesterday & took the opportunity to go in & swing the new clubs. I was able to demo the F7+, the Epic & the Epic Sub Zero. I started out by warming up with my club while the gentleman got the other clubs together for me. Took about 15 swings or so before the testing began. FYI I play my F6 set to 12.5 weight forward and at 44.5" length.

Disclaimer....my swing was RUSTY but it was the same with all the clubs so at least that tells me a little.

So to start I hit 4 balls with mine & then 4 with the Epic Sub (10.5 with heavy weight back & Rogue Max shaft). Then reverse the process...4 with Subzero & 4 with mine. Initial impression....the Cobra was more consistent, longer, straighter...expected since it has been through the ringer getting set up for me. Looks, sound & feel go to the Subzero. Pic below top 4 my Cobra, bottom 4 Subzero....

IMG_7626_zpsci6al8p4.jpg

Next, I grab the F7+ to compare to my F6...now this wasn't even close to a fair comparison (the only club they had was new in wrapper, taped up & I couldn't adjust the weights at all, only loft...heavy weight was in front, loft was 11', stock shaft). Same process as above, hit 4 balls with each & reversed the order. I knew right away that the way the club was set up wasn't going to work for me. I was hitting all over the face with the F7+, couldn't launch it, etc. So I switched my shaft into the club to see if that helped....nope still not consistent with it. I was optimistically hoping it would work, because like I said before been a big Cobra driver ho for a while now...but it just wasn't working for me. Now I will say this, the club looks awesome, so much smaller looking then the F6 even though they're supposed to be the same size. Feel was different then the F6, but I guess I'm just used to the F6 & it was the winner for me between the two.

So I go back to the Subzero, because I knew it had more adjustments for me to tinker with & try to dial in for me. Started by cranking loft up, changing the weights around, etc. and ask the gentleman if they had any other stock shafts I could throw in it, so he goes on the hunt. He comes back with another Epic, this time the regular version in a 9' head with the Fuji Pro 62?. So needless to say, it now becomes a trial of those 2 clubs with changing between the shafts, lofts, weights, sliding weight, etc. I didn't get to spend as much time tinkering as I wanted, but wanted to put this info in here. On both Epics, there was obvious ball flight & spin changes by either moving the sliding weight &/or moving the heavy weight. They are definitely 2 clubs that I will demo later on this year when I'm in "Season" form and have the opportunity to try them outside with more options then I had available yesterday. I am very content with my F6, but if I was in the market for a driver, the Epics would definitely be on my radar.

Please ask any questions you may have & I'll do the best to answer...and also remember the main things to remember are strike on the clubface made all the difference for me with the numbers that were spit out.
