Slow Driving - Make & Model

HatsForBats

Recommended Posts

You are a little late leaving for your tee time and your drive includes a long stretch of road where there is no passing. What make and model car would you hate to get stuck behind? ie. What make and model/type of car(s) do you think has the highest probability of making you even later.

I would say.

1) Subaru - Any wagon

2) Toyota Prius

3) Lincoln Town Car

It seems whenever I get stuck behind a Nervous Nelly it's almost always a Toyota Corolla or a Grandpa Jones in a Saturn!

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

1) Prius and the holier-than-thou people who drive them.

2) Hatchbacks with the fart-can exhaust, green rims that cost more than the car, and a "spoiler" made of sheet metal.

3) Anything with a "Coexist" or "Obama" sticker. (see no. 1)

4) Trucks w/ gravel in them, with no tarp over it - or with loose rocks and gravel laying on the flat bed, jumping around and falling off to smash my f*cking window.

There is an 8-mile stretch of twisty turny road on my way to work. Speed limit is 45mph. It's a fun road to drive but I get stuck behind a slow-poke about a third of the time. Often it's Subarus or Prius but what bothers me the most is when I get stuck about a slow-poke in a fancy BMW. Why would they buy such a car if they're not going to drive it appropriately.

Prius drivers are the absolute worst! Subie wagon drivers are pretty awful too.

Next would be anyone with an Ohio license plate (except me of course lol)

Even some Subaru wagons have turbo engines, like the forester XT. Guys can drive those fast. I see plenty of guys speeding around in economy cars.

But agreed on hybrids and big honking cars like a town car. No one is driving a mercury grand marquis over 50mph under any circumstances

Any , yes any Buick. Dead certain it's a slow driver. With one exception. If it's grandmas meth head daughter or grand daughter who have borrowed grandmas car. Then you better look out. They will run up the curb to hit you. Lol.

Even more infuriating than a Prius ect is getting stuck behind a supercar like a Ferrari 488, 458, Porsche Turbo, Aston Vantage, Lamborghini etc that drive below the speed limit. If you are going to spend six figures on a supercar WHY THE F are you driving below the speed limit.

Last night for me was a $250k Bentley driving 35 in a 45 where everyone else drives 50+

They just want to be seen in their cars. They don't actually know how to drive them.

Any Buick, yes even the GN (as they don't drive them fast anymore and want to preserve them).

Any hybrid, especially Prius.

Grand Marquis/Crown Vic/Lincoln Towncar

Beat up pickups (not the lifted ones), driven by townies. -10 mph if still has bench seat and gun rack.

Around here, Subarus don't have the same stigma.

Some D bags buy cars like that not to drive but to be seen in.

I have 2 stretches of road I drive every day to and from work totaling about 10 miles. Speed limit is 60 on both. I don't remember the last time I was able to drive over 50, and it's usually 45. Pisses me off to no end! The roads are pretty busy and there are a few big blind curves in both, so passing usually isn't an option. You can bet your hind side I'll drop down 2 gears, dump the clutch and scream past them at the first opportunity though (I drive a 2015 mustang GT with a couple of minor goodies).

A dump truck with a full load of gravel. Slow as crap, cant accelerate quickly, stones fall out etc.

I win

Which is why I specified a Car. Any commercial truck such as a Dump Truck, Trash Truck, Sanitation Truck or 18 wheeler with a full load it is more about what is in the vehicle rather than the person driving. I agree it stinks to be behind those vehicles but it is probably not their driving that is the issue.

Any car that is colored beige. And appears to be driving itself when viewed from behind.

Yeah, all to often a Buick.

Ahh yes, the granny car...

The other one that I see a lot which I don't think gets enough attention are the G series Infiniti's (G35, G37)... They are quick cars with a fair amount of power yet 9 out of 10 times their drivers drive them super slow... And then there is that 1 out 10 and the person is driving it like a bat out of hell

This is getting pretty awkward for Corolla owners, look we aren't all slow drivers people, it's just a quality machine at a reasonable price and there's nothing wrong with that OK????
